My work has not been for nothing. And I won’t stop. Democracy requires vigilance. There’s no end zone. There’s no touchdown dance. The work doesn’t stop because you win one election or take back the house or win in court. Preserving democracy never stops.

ICYMI: We have to stop dividing our problems into “left & right" & start seeing our problems like “top vs bottom.” 977 U.S. billionaires have a combined wealth of 9.2 trillion & they funneled it out of the middle class. Then they keep us fighting with each other while they steal more.
But guys... you don't have to give up your addiction to rage. Just turn it towards things that actually deserve it: like billionaires, techno-fascists, and data centers! Then we can all be angry together!
People have the right to resist annihilation by any means necessary. We can't allow the people manufacturing fast or slow death for all of us determine the appropriate time & means for our resistance. They will continue to demand we die polietly, without inconveniencing them.
As Trump returns to tariffs, it's worth checking out what we've gotten from the trade war so far.
Its funny how everyone's idea of heaven is a complete untouched paradise, crystal clear waters, lush green forests, enough food for everyone, classless, moneyless, stateless, a Utopia of peace, unity and happiness. But here on earth it's considered a leftist ideology.
I just asked Siri where the nearest White Castle was and she told me that Belvedere Castle in New York was 2500 some odd miles away and asked me if that was good. Now I have so many more questions.
Some notes now that I’ve seen the transcript of the hearing, thanks to @lizdye.bsky.social . First: the government dismissed the felony count in an effort to convince the judge not to make them produce full transcripts, knowing they showed serious misconduct.

Mamdani has demonstrated something that Democrats have largely forgotten. You can't just do good things for voters and expect to be rewarded for it. You have to tell them about it, over and over again. You have to advertise your work in office just as much as you did on the campaign to win it.
When we took office, NYC had a $12B deficit. Today it’s zero. And we didn’t close that gap on the backs of working people. We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets, & public housing. Call it Pothole Politics or Democratic Socialism: We are government that delivers for the people.
Everyone said John Roberts would be fine because he was an "institutionalist" - wanting to preserve the institution. They weren't wrong, it's just that he's preserving the institutions of racism, sexism, and oligarchy.
Hey, political fundraisers doing SMS campaigns. I've seen "My Decision" 23613 times now. Today. Stop it. Do better. I don't care about your deadlines, or your whatevers, I care about _what you're going to do_.
Hey media-- Pam Bondi is not a victim -- she willingly carried out Trump's political agenda to prosecute his political enemies and undermine free and fair elections. Todd Blache is not shouldering a "burden" or "walking a tightrope." He is a willing accomplice. Language matters.
LLMs have brought natural language interfaces to technology in a way that professors in most universities have had for years. The professors just called them "graduate students."

goddamn is this a breath of fresh air after Allred 2024
Totally representative of the Trump regime. A competent military chasing the fever dreams of a senile crazy man with no competent policy advisors.
The WSJ reports that the Trump administration has massed "significant" air power in striking distance of Iran, but hasn't yet decided what the purpose of an attack would be. www.wsj.com/world/middle...
Jason Kelce picking up bobsledding in 24 hours is incredible and fun to watch. The training he's had for football clearly cross over and seeing him process what he's being taught and the respect the bobsledders have for how fast he picks it up is so cool. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdGJ...
Bobsled Is Actually INSANE
I traveled to Park City, Utah to train with the USA Bobsled Team and find out if a retired NFL lineman has what it takes to push a four-man sled. Spoiler: it's way harder than it looks. The team put…

If AI is going to be writing all this code and computer languages are all going to be read-only anyway does this mean Perl's time is coming back around?
I think my perfect machine these days would be an M2 11” MacBook Air. Or just let my 11” iPad Pro run macOS.
Is it just me or is reading LinkedIn exhausting? So many people taking so many small ideas so seriously. It reminds me of the old joke: "Why are academic politics so vicious?" "Because the stakes are so small." What does all this posturing on LinkedIn do? Anything?
My favorite thing on the Rational Security podcast from @lawfaremedia.org used to be how @shaneharris.bsky.social said “Goodbye” at the end, but now it’s how @sranderson.bsky.social says ”Me!” when he’s reading the credits for audio engineer.
OK, I know the world is burning down and everything, but sometimes my brain just goes “Hey, what about this?” Today, it’s: In _The Little Mermaid_ movie, after Eric and Ariel are married - does the kingdom just stop eating seafood?
I’d forgotten how good the cast of 1776 is. William Daniels is amazing, but the talent in the cast is incredible.
The problem with having a particular sense of humor and being a student of the classics is that you can’t participate in your child’s Scouting activities without having a certain song on repeat in your head every time.
Two Republican senators told me tonight this vote shows they can execute the same strategy again — cut Democrats out of the negotiations on a gov’t funding bill, pass it thru the House, and expect Senate Dems to back down and not filibuster it. “We liked it over here,” one said.
It’s a real shame they tamped him down so much on the campaign. Probably wouldn’t have made the difference, but damn, remember the euphoria of that first weekend she picked him and they were talking like people and we were on the offensive? It felt fucking amazing and he is really good at this.
