There is no industry or craft in the world which is so comprehensively written about, studied, and discussed as fiction writing, and every author I know welcomes new writers who are serious about giving it a go.
And, of course, I got to hang out with these two characters! Good company makes every convention worth it.

Just read: Never Say Spy, by Diane Henders. A bookkeeper faces one hell of a mid-life crisis when she discovers she can tap into a secret Canadian virtual reality Network. Now spies from both sides want her! Clever, entertaining popcorn fun. A touch overlong, but I had a great time.
As D.J. correctly points out: Writing is not basketball. There isn't an age limit on writing or when to start or how much to do. Our most important muscle is our brain and we can use that for a long time.
