Hi! I'm Joe! I'm the editor/overlord of Point of Impact Publishing, heroic purveyors of trashy action fiction, including the Frenzi series by R. J. Calder, Lash, by Clint Reno, and Cell Block by Sterling Dodge!

Another legendary "killer creature" story for Halloween reading is the bloody yarn “Mad Monkeys,” included in the full-color, expanded edition of our men's adventure magazine story and art anthology WEASELS RIPPED MY FLESH! (amzn.to/3Zps7Ow). It appeared in 4 different men's adventure mags. #booksky

Patrick Stewart was my favorite starship captain. But as an action movie junkie, I also got a kick out of his role in Gunmen as the man you thought was the chief baddie but was outclassed by Dennis Leary, and in Masterminds as the best not-Hans Gruber for the PG-13 crowd. RIP, legend.

Patrick Stewart in a still from the movie Gunmen. He's in a wheelchair, speaking to his henchman, Dennis Leary, who certainly would never betray him.Patrick Stewart in a still from Masterminds, sporting a tiny mustache and a not-so-tiny plaid tie.

If you’ve got a spare 10 minutes laying around, maybe you could check out my story. I mean, if you wanna. I’m not the boss of you.

Herein lies the struggle. When people hear you are a writer, they think "to form words by or as if by marking characters or symbols on a surface" and devalue you because *everyone* can do that. They do not grasp that it takes skill "to communicate with in writing." AI has worsened that gap.

The hotel I am staying at for work appears to have been built in the last week. My room still smells of paint. There are roofers working and the staff is being trained today. There is no coffee maker in my room but a 24-hour carafe in the lobby. I've visited it multiple times tonight.

I spent a year without work after DOGE, and missed out on several positions that required AI fluency, even though the actual teams had no idea what that meant, just that "the clients want it." And that's not even touching the various hiring/screening shenanigans that companies offloaded to junk AI.

this is a good story but barely addresses the way AI has demolished the job hunting/hiring system. it's like living on a different planet and people who have full time permanent jobs do not understand the situation at all. www.usatoday.com/story/money/...

Had a four-and-a-half hour drive into New York for work and my string of travel misadventures continues. 37 years of age and never been pulled over for speeding. Until today. Can't argue. It went from 45mph to 30mph just in front of the Cranberry fire department. And I was going 48mph. Ah well...

It's 11:33pm. I've been up since 5:40am, worked at the Day Job, spent an hour helping at a different store, cooked dinner, decompressed with a vidya game, and now, instead of the smart adult thing (going to bed), I'm gonna do a bit of writing. The typewriters are click-clacking away in the Bullpen.

Man, I can read books and write books (don't fricking talk to me about marketing), but I can't watch movies anymore. Damn it, I miss movies! I've fallen asleep trying to watch the last two movies I selected...and they were good! I need to rewire my brain. Not sure how yet...

A priest turned bard named Silver Ear seeks fortune in Hagen's court but becomes entangled in unraveling a secret lurking in Godling Wood, where a creature so old she doesn't know her origin (though she's curious to learn) stalks the night.
