I think what the right fundamentally misunderstands is that Charlie was a huge figure for the right and that the left saw him as a joke. He wasnt a threat or someone to overcome and thats why its laughable that he would be a target by anyone on the left.

I'm sure it's fine that basically every public figure peacefully speaking out about Palestine is getting hit with terrorism charges.
The left doesn't need any more symbolic action. We need to drive real, material changes. It needs to be messy and imperfect and public. It needs to be within arm's reach of everyday people instead of an abstract concept.
