Professor of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez / The pandemic ends when infections end, not when your attention span ends.
Yup. You did. And cancer research for children was first to go.
And yet, they keep doing it even after he made this post.
Your 'moment of doom' for Aug. 3, 2026 ~ Let them eat beans on toast "Farms across the country were affected by floods over the winter, making planting extremely difficult, and now in many areas they do not have access to water as irrigation is being restricted due to drought."

We’re not even at the peak of El Niño yet, but the wildfires across Europe and the floods in South Asia are already devastating. Will we ever see real and urgent climate action from our world leaders?
Your 'doom quote' for today: “It is the biggest threat humanity has faced, with the potential to wreck our social fabric and way of life. It has the potential to kill millions, if not billions, through starvation, war over resources, displacement." www.nmn.com/news/living-...

This president is so corrupt that money laundering doesn't even rank on the long list of his alleged crimes. It's just expected. So much for "high crimes and misdemeanors."
"While seroprevalence studies estimated that fewer than 10% of the" [Canadian] "population had been infected prior to January 2022, over 70% had been infected by December 2022." I wonder what caused that? Would it have been the great 'giving up' rather than admitting CoVID-19 was airborne?

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.
The most basic & fundamental element of empire is control of currency. It underpins everything about controlling people's & empires. It has for centuries. For those paying attention, there are some absolutely wild things going on right now. The happenings between Japan & the US in this regard
The backlash at Fauci is a confirmation that the warnings about COVID and reinfections even when vaccinated, were true. Millions are sick, now they blame the vaccines. The alternative is too painful. Fauci did make mistakes: overselling the power of the vaccines, and unmasking.
According to MAGA Fauci created and released a gain of function research virus. Not content with that, he locked people down to destroy the economy and smothered them with masks to asphixiate them. But the real killer came later: vaccines, the coup de grace. Brainless imbeciles.
As an educator, I'm both worried and curious to see what ends up happening with education and AI. Are we really curious creatures who actually want to know, understand, create? Or are we driven purely by necessity? Do we actually love learning? Is this the rule or the exception?

France calls out the U.S. at a UN meeting: “The US used to be a beacon of human rights. Not anymore. Today, it stands alongside North Korea, Nicaragua, Mali and Russia. Isolated. And the world no longer listens to it.” U.S. representatives stormed out of the meeting. Well said France! 👏🏼🇫🇷👏🏼
Just loving how John Cleese, now reduced to one of his own caricatures, rages about immigrants coming to the UK and failing to accept "our" culture, from his home in ... (checks notes) ... Nevis in the Caribbean.
