Green Hairstreak on Lilac Watercolour on vintage J. Whatman paper from 1940, approximately 134 x 178 mm. Referenced from a photograph by Debbie Anne Hope. Original available in the @changelingart.bsky.social 'Bugs & Beasties 6' auction this week: www.facebook.com/media/set/?v... 1/
Stumbled upon a truly miniature, perfectly formed Pyramidal Orchid. The hot and prolonged dry spell here has left many local wildflowers with scorched leaves and stunted growth, this tiny bloom is a beautiful reminder of natures quiet resilience! 💜 📷 🌿 #WildflowerHour #BloomScrolling #ECK #Orchids

Our red squirrels have far more conservative ears, so this tufted little one felt like a fun challenge. But the branch sealed the deal. All that moss and texture. QoR watercolors and a Pentel Aquash brush in my Etchr A5 sketchbook. #sciart
It's all about the patterns today at #ArtRepostJuly. I don't do many of these but this forget-me-not one is a collab across time, using some of my dad Patrick's mum's art, remixing it adding in my own ladybirds, she always wanted to be a wallpaper designer... #SciArt #PatternDesign #Procreate
Calling all artists! We don't reshare our older stuff enough, so here's an excuse to do so I'll be busy in July drawing things I can't share publicly just yet, so I'm gonna repost some of my faves following these approximate themes (interpreted broadly!) Join me? #art #ArtChallenge #ArtRepostJuly

Okay, after much deliberation since about 75% of what I draw has patterns of one kind or another, I have chosen this Wyandotte chicken because I don't think I've reposted it as much as some of the others I was considering and also I just love it #ArtRepostJuly The theme is #pattern!
A fritillary butterfly enjoyed the coneflower nectar for hours yesterday. When it moved on an Eastern yellow swallowtail came for hours. They were the only butterflies I saw, but they’re beautiful and it made me feel good that we had provided for them. #nativeplants #gardening #butterflies #maryland
#birdoftheday #birds #birdphotography #photography #lifer #littleowls I'm unsure if this meets the definition of lifer. Little owls are not indigenous to Ireland, and these two were born in captivity. What was new to me, a first and an absolute delight was to capture them within a week of hatching
I rarely see Stonechats locally and have never managed a decent photo of one until today. Isn't he stunning! 🧡 🪶 📷 Hope everyone is well👋 For those of us in the heatwave, please help out the wildlife with bowls of fresh water if you can. 🙏 🥵 #Birds #BirdOfTheDay #BirdsILove #UKWildlife #ECK

Happy day eight of #ArtRepostJuly! Today's theme is #lovely I think both flowers and butterflies qualify for that, so here's a 2-for-1 special #SciArt
I'm so happy with this piece! ! I love how the snow and the leopard's tail turned out. Snow leopards are such majestic creatures, so I had to draw one! The original is up for sale on Ebay! A link is in the comments. #art #traditionalart #sciart #wildlife #snowleopard #charcoalart #nature #cat

It's very hot again this week and everything dries too quickly again, making progress twice as slow. I'm again hunched over in worse ways than usual because I have to find an alternative space to work. Having the fan on constantly also means more crud getting blown into the paint. It's all just... 😓
