1/ Just in: An anonymous federal worker has filed a whistleblower disclosure warning that the U.S. Postal Service's attempt to create a system to regulate mail voting for the midterms has been "rushed, chaotic, and fundamentally flawed." @propublica.org has the details 👇

Screenshot of the top of a whistleblower disclosure titled "USPS Rushed Implementation of New and Untested IT Systems Threatens U.S. Ballot Mail Delivery." Addressed to Senator Blumenthal, the first point details how the whistleblower has "significant concerns about the USPS's secretive, rushed, chaotic, and fundamentally flawed process for the creation and implementation of an entirely new and untested set of IT systems" intended for the 2026 midterms.

“If that counts as sexual assault then almost every woman has been sexually assaulted”. Yes. Bingo. Almost every woman HAS been sexually assaulted. Many of us have had it happen more than once. The problem isn’t the definition, it’s rape culture.

I tripped and fell yesterday and it’s pretty gnarly. I thought I just scraped my shin but when I checked it out I realized it had actually scraped a chunk of skin off? And I don’t have the right supplies to bandage it up nice. I’m meeting parents for a visit soon so we’ll see how that goes

So I had this task that's been eating at me all week. I had to write up methods for a project I did 1-2 years ago and remember none of. But I was able to figure it out. I didn't want to engage with it bc of not wanting to work, but I did today, and its done

Made some awesome Aldi bean dip: Refried beans + hot sauce + chili powder (nuked a little) Pico de gallo, medium Sour cream Avocado verde salsa/guac I built it in the order of how I used to enjoy my chipotle burrito bowls. Enjoyed with tortilla chips

Going back to work after vacation is always rough. Because you get to experience what not-having-to-work-to-live and its awesome and you know you won't get to be there in any long-term way (that's if social security/retirement will even exist in 20 years).

30 gd years ago, there was a storyline on ER where an unvaccinated kid died of measles. The young doctors had not actually ever SEEN measles in person. This was in the bag, y'all, and we've dropped it.

Two people have died in Pennsylvania from measles, the state health department said. Both were unvaccinated. These the first deaths related to measles within the state in 35 years, it reports

Its something that we probably all know on here but it always deserves saying: The people who are suddenly 'concerned' about academic freedom only have those concerns when someone loses their job for being a bigot. Never when a leftist, feminist, or BIPOC professor loses their job after bullshit.

AI is going to die under its own weight. every day, planned data centers are falling through because, to fund them, they need actual returns on investment which they are NOT getting- because nobody wants to pay $20 per shrimp jesus waifu. College kids don't want to pay that for an essay. etc
