We’re working on a plan for Phoenix, but it’s hard- we still owe our veterinarian about $35k and if Phoenix survives he’s going to need about $10k in cleft palate surgery. I’m not in a fabulous place to be making decisions about this either, because I’m also dealing with a death in my family.

We did unfortunately lose Pegasus and Griffon. Phoenix has been doing good and gaining, but today it became obvious that something is not right with his chest, we’re worried he may have developed flat chested kitten syndrome (or FCKS, which is close to what I said when I got the photos from Wendy).

They have bobcats here in VA and they run all over the urban areas in AZ, where I'm from. That's part of why I picked it-- I prefer having a fursona that's based in a location I'm connected to. Makes it feel more "me", personally, but not everyone is like that!

here's a fun question for you: what would your fursona be if it had to an animal that *actually lives in your area*? hard mode: no domesticated animals with a consequentially global range--that would mean, for example, canid and ungulate species have to be species actually found in the wild

UPDATE: Due to the kindness and outpouring of support from friends and strangers alike, we've reached our initial care goal! 🎉 All current vet bills have been paid in full and I could not be more grateful. While Gamora still has some tests ahead of her, she's been a happier pup lately. Thank you ❤️
