every day Steam's AI disclosure stays buried at the bottom instead of at the top of the page with a big orange warning background is another day of harm towards the industry writ large and quiet erosion of people's ability to find and reward interesting games

well congrats everyone, after the success (15k reviews!) and positive media coverage that AI-generated-art library-sorting game on steam got, there's now a rapid wave of AI-disclosure sorting games releasing on steam

Not people calling the fights in Magical Girl Dandelion Shonen elements when this has been PreCure’s level of fighting for a decade now!!!! It was super clear to me MGD was drawing from PreCure inspirations alongside other magical girl properties, and not really battle shonen tbh

It's important to me that while, yes, Niranjana is a skilled healer and mage with all the whimsy and ethereal quirks that come with that, he can also fight with his hands. He can and will scrap. The PreCure girls were my first introduction to magical girls who also fight with their hands 🙂‍↕️

The “better” generative AI gets, the clearer its shortcomings become. Every piece of AI “art” has the same gloss. Every AI flyer has the same aesthetic. They’re the homogenized average of all AI’s ripped and anyone can tell now - and avoid your business. “When everyone’s super, no one will be.”

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.

People bring up the length of Precure which is fair to not want to invest in a show of that length but then other shows even longer like Gundam that are also big toy commercial franchises still get a lot of hype around them from mainstream anime fans.
