It's pretty infuriating that Trump is denying disaster aid to Oregon for political reasons and I have barely heard anything about it, while Biden was falsely accused of doing the exact same thing to North Carolina and millions of people believed that

I research, write, and teach about gender and race in early US culture. Lover of dogs and cats. Hater of piety in any ideological inflection.
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
"there was nothing left when he was done" -- it works on so many levels.
Lindsey Graham got the diarrhea and died. "There was nothing left when he was done," said an aide. "Now we have to try to put the diarrhea back in so we can bury something three dimensional," he added. RFK Jr. is going to give kids in school diarrhea to honor Lindsey Graham and make them stronger.
Yes yes yes. His hysterical, scolding outburst that helped push Kavanaugh's confirmation is how I will remember his most.
His hatred of women has really been overlooked and undercovered. Among other things Graham voted against reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, against equal pay, repeatedly pushed abortion bans, and was viciously cruel to Christine Blasey Ford.
Calvin Duncan gets to say this; Platner doesn't.
"We engaged in electoral politics. We motivated people. We banded together. We did it the way that we were told we are supposed to make change, and we won, and now they are not going to let us have it," Platner says.
You're a chump. And if you survive it, it will still take years off your life.
I think assigning students challenging stuff--at any level--is a way of expressing respect for them and for their potential, and I don't think such expression of respect depends on their recognizing it as such in the moment. Also we are custodians of what we cherish.
Reposting for @ebonyteach.blacksky.app and any other mutuals I have in Michigan.
Michigan Governor caught on hot mic with Oracle CEO Clay Magouyrk, discussing citizen opposition to AI data centers, bragging how she ignores their concerns: “We’re used to people saying 'f*ck no,' & doing it anyway.”🇺🇸
I really think no one has any idea how to be a man or a woman. Gender is where everything fails, and if we are lucky we might enjoy it sometimes but that’s often not in the cards.
This New Orleanean doesn’t understand why anyone goes to Jazzfest.
Here I invite you to be a micro-heretic. To bring small shame on your people. Tell me about a highly praised thing in your hometown/area that all locals LOVE except YOU. I’m from the Seattle area. Taco Time is nothing special. Bland. Not horrible but not worth going out of your way. Now you go!
Fuck you Henry Cuellar, Vicente Gonzalez, Don Davis, Cleo Fields, Laura Gillen, Marcy Kaptur, Marie Gluesencap Perez, and Eugene Vindman. All of you should EAT SHIT

We cannot have sustainable energy because it threatens the oil industry. We cannot have healthcare because it threatens insurance. We cannot have peace because it threatens the weapons industry. Capitalism built a system where doing the right thing is treated like bad business.
just overheard a 4th grader telling her friend, "if you ever need to distract some boys, literally just draw an X in the dirt. they'll stop to dig it up, they can't help it" which is the only gender metric I'll be using, moving forward
