I feel bad saying this, but I feel like the people cheerfully going "just use the disabled loos!" about anti-trans legislation don't understand how much cis women harass people everywhere. I'm a visibly disabled man, I have been harassed by non-disabled women about using disabled loos -

So Kansas votes tomorrow on whether to elect its Supreme Court justices. In 2022, Kris Kobach said doing exactly this would let Kansas “slowly and quietly” put anti-abortion judges on the court. Now it’s on the ballot. If you know somebody in Kansas, they should know this is going on.
Gauge woke me up early and I wasn't able to fall back to sleep because I have the ADHD paranoia that I'll be late for an appointment, so my brain is making me check my clock every few minutes to make sure I get ready in time for an appointment several hours in the future.
hey @joshuajfriedman.com if there's one thing I might beg you to communicate internally - the (a?) core of bluesky users want opt-in instead of opt-out, because we don't trust social media corporations to ever do good thngs. It's a learned distrust, and it might not be fair, but it's there.

St. Paul cops are stopping cars coming in but there are dozens of people that have gathered here in anticipation of the sweep in order to help camp residents and document what the city does here today.

My elders lived through Jim Crow, migrated North, dealt with racism up here, etc. I've heard "white folks won't vote for him." They said the same about Obama 'til Iowa. Progressives need to be willing to meet our Black elders where they are. We can earn their votes! But... We can't be dismissive.
