DreamWorks Animation’s remote workers have overwhelmingly ratified their first union contract with The Animation Guild. 97% voted in favor of the agreement, securing equal wage standards, healthcare, pension benefits and workplace protections as on-campus workers.
Project Star Dog
@projectstardog.bsky.social
In 1957, a stray dog from the streets of Moscow became the first living creature to go into orbit. Sadly, her mission was a one-way trip, as there was no way to bring her home at the time. This is her story re-imagined. 🚫No AI🚫
Someone PLEASE check in on David Gilmour, we've lost too many of the wrong 80 year olds this week 😭
Now that Bluesky allows 10 minute videos, should I restart this project's official thread from scratch? I never liked splitting up so many scenes into separate parts before, it feels impractical to watch the whole thing that way
The next scene features another flashback to Laika's childhood, this time from before WWII started. I'm about halfway through drawing it, and I think I'm finally getting the hang of her puppy design. Stay tuned!
In case I don't get the colored version ready in time, here's a rough sketch for those who celebrate
“It’s all in your head” CORRECT! Unfortunately, I also am there and now we’re fighting like feral cats.
This is the kind of thing I see that directly demonstrates WHY so many are against AI. The people pushing this cannot help but start with "THIS WILL DESTROY YOUR JOBS" while talking about tech built on theft that's also making everything unaffordable. Gee, how exciting.
The ONLY decent side effect of AI is that it made me consider my own artistic intent more. Why did I frame this shot a certain way? What did I mean by that line of dialogue? What was I going for with plot point X or Y? AI can never really work through questions like these
I'm already in the home stretch with drawing the next scene. It'll be a much shorter, simpler one this time, so thankfully I caught a break after how elaborate the Stalingrad sequence got for me
Finally watched Legend of Aang last night. We need to open a case with the ICC against whoever made the call to pull this from theaters man 😭
Scene 15: Not a Step Back (2/4) CW: Gore, graphic violence Special thanks to @jheidtmooreva.bsky.social for voicing puppy Laika in this, she did a great job!
Scene 15: Not a Step Back (3/4) CW: Gore, graphic violence Special thanks to @jheidtmooreva.bsky.social for voicing puppy Laika in this, she did a great job!
The rough edit for scene 15 is done! I still have to start the music in FL Studio, plus another round or two of sound mixing, but it's absolutely in the home stretch now. Soon I'll finally get to show this damn thing off in all its glory 🤞
Editing has begun on the next scene. It's still anyone's guess how long it might be, but I thiiiiiiink the runtime might be somewhere in the 8-10 minute range. It's also gonna be the first scene with a content warning at the start. Stay tuned y'all
Sometimes I forget just how drastic my style drift has been since I started this project
Finished drawing the last frame in the Stalingrad flashback today (barring any extra bits I might still add later). It's been hard, but I'm finally in the home stretch for this next scene altogether, and I'm confident I'll have it out before the end of the month. Stay tuned!
"bEiNg aNtI-Ai iS aBeLiSt!" Rick Allen kept playing drums after literally LOSING A WHOLE ARM, get out of here with that bad faith bullshit
Peter Jackson didn’t use forced perspective, scale models, adjustable and ‘“split-scale-sets,” where set pieces, such as tables, chairs, doors, and even some other props, were built in multiple sizes’ and children to double as Hobbits in LOTR, just for sloppy losers to tell us ‘AI is inevitable’.
Jim Henson & Co didn't use camera tricks & human-drawn animation alongside skilled puppety in The Great Muppet Caper just so idiots could tell us "AI is inevitable."
POV: Your tech knowledge never got past the 1950s Special shoutout to @gooseworx.bsky.social and @glitchprod.com for the absolute triumph they pulled off with the TADC finale!
I am not in denial that AI is here I am in active rebellion.
People who say "well, AI's here, it's not going anywhere, so we better learn to live with it" are cowards who capitulate to the whims of psychopath oligarchs, and they can eat my shit. AI should be banned, full stop. We are not powerless, and we can make it go away.
Today I got to draw a Nazi officer getting sniped in the head while listening to Iron Maiden, life is good
The Stalingrad flashback is already one of the most grueling things I've ever had to storyboard, but god I'm loving how it's turning out so far. I can't wait to have all of this put together for y'all to see
I spent almost an entire work break trying to draw a semi-detailed gun for a frame of the Red Army firing at enemies, only to find out it was actually German gun 💀
This is literally my entire story summed up in 6 seconds 😭 www.youtube.com/watch?v=PH6q...
