The problem with my very young daughter getting into comics is we are in an international world and I know nothing about manga. Other than the odds that something with a sinister title like "soul eater" being more age appropriate than "black butler" being not zero.
Not seems like a good time to bring up the flash of red I see every time my chaplain blasts out an email to everyone on the base about his Bible study. Pretty sure he's allowed to. I hate it. The man has done nothing to earn my ire. I just hate that he's federally funded.
Make. It. Stop.
It's hard to beat the joy of a well attended suburban farmers market.
People need to start getting disbarred for this shit.
The Justice Department is admitting that a $14 million renovation on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC, was flawed, and is dropping the criminal case against a former Olympian that accused him of damaging the pool, according to a new court filing. https://cnn.it/3RJJnwj
The Worst People You Know were talking about this like it was buying war bonds and your patriotic duty just one month ago.

Wonder how many of the Saudi students I taught are gonna be on the pointy end of that stick.

I served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Force Education and Training for three years before the office was disestablished last year. I owned the policy on professional military education for all five services. I have listened to Secretary Hegseth's announcement. I have thoughts. 🧵
"The Notes are written in broken parts. The Warnings are written in fingers, eyes and limbs. The Cautions are written in gravestones."
Btw. Many norms, rules and moral responsibilities fall in the same bucket. As I tell my sons: we actually have reasons for things. Often bought with suffering.
Someone come get your boot-ass SFC putting on face camo to patrol the border wall. He's embarrassing three of his seven estranged children and two ex wives
"I don't care about US Servicemember dead or wounded because a small group of partially politically appointed decision makers sending troops to get killed by Iran also killed schoolchildren and fishermen for Russia/Israel/hubris." Is an objectively shitty take.
US soldiers? Cry me a river. 150 schoolgirls shredded and incinerated in just one horrific moment, now THAT seems to me kind of a big deal. Apparently not to the country that killed them.
I cannot believe Ari Emanuel would write this and @wsj.com would publish it without disclosing that they are business partners, and Ari’s company TKO got $7 billion from David Ellison’s Paramount for UFC rights. www.wsj.com/opinion/the-...

Gonna be a whole lot of moral damage when these service members come back and start telling their story and MAGA starts claiming it never happened and they are paid actors. Black rifle coffee gonna eat itself.
140 soldiers wounded just last week seems like kind of a big deal.
If only we had an industry designed to pay people to root out the truth and report back to us. We could call them reporters. Has anyone tried this?
We can verify the daily physical status of a specific Seattle raccoon but apparently we're completely unable to determine whether a United States Senator is alive or dead.
Never forget.
It’s striking that Douthat has been at the NYT all these years. The right has built a closed media ecosystem on the (false) belief that legacy media is a closed ecosystem. Meanwhile, a rightwing intellectual mediocrity like Douthat kept chugging along at the Times. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/28/b...
All tanks. I will not be taking questions at this time.
This sounds like a perfect case for people to point to to explain why they don't like lawyers. Someone's gonna have to argue FOR fake revenge porn. Someone very well paid.
Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company is suing Minnesota over a first-in-the-nation law banning technology that allows users to create and post deepfake videos or images of people naked without their consent.
This suggests the existence of whorephilia. With this research grant I will....
Great piece and great term: whorephobia!
Rebuild? More like put down for good.
Scoop: Nick Bilton and Bari Weiss are having potential new "60 Minutes" correspondents take screen tests in which they interview a person playing Ghislaine Maxwell—all while Bilton and Bari also look for new senior staff for the show. All the details in @status.news: www.status.news/p/60-minutes...
Additional fun facts. Once you have a heat injury, that shit sticks with you and it's much easier to get more heat injuries. Grab some electrolyte powder. Drink 3 normal waters for each electrolyte drink and cold showers drop your core temperature to give yourself a break.
Hey guys, with this awful heat here are some things to keep in mind. Having just suffered a heat stroke I thought I would pass this along. Stay safe, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate
What, and I cannot stress this enough, the fuck? That's like me going to be scuba instructor.
Breaking News: Ross Douthat, The New York Times opinion columnist, is joining CBS News’s “60 Minutes” in one of the first major hires since Bari Weiss’s takeover.
Article 88 of the UCMJ doesn't have much to say about reskeeting what a Republican Congressman says. Weird.
Roflmao. The thing none of the services have figured out either. "I'm a pilot. Let me pilot."
Xwing v TIE fighter. There was an attempt with Squadrons but it kept making you get out of the cockpit in different missions to run around with a blaster. I'm a pilot. Let me pilot
This is a key point. Unlike in the past. There are no car billionaires. There are no space billionaires. There are business billionaires who happen to own companies who do car stuff or space stuff. They have no passion for anything.
Honestly, I'm not a supporter of vigilante justice, but come on!! Not even the car billionaires have made a cool bat car.
