Funny how Paramount attempted twice to distribute Coyote vs Acme when Brian Robbins was CEO. 1) When WB first put it for sale, Paramount bid against Netflix and Amazon (it went nowhere) 2) A co-distribution with Ketchup (talks stopped due to WB’s release restrictions and David Ellison taking over)

Source: Deadline

However, if it wasn’t for Ketchup stepping up, this $70M Warner Bros Looney Tunes production, which the Burbank, CA lot wrote off for $30M, wouldn’t have a home. In shelling out $50M, Ketchup paid more than all other suitors, which included Paramount and Netflix, and saved the Dave Green-directed, Chris DeFaria and James Gunn-produced movie.

There was a moment in time back in mid 2025, when Ketchup was going to team up with Paramount, and have the Melrose Ave lot sub-distribute and market the film. Paramount (this was during the previous Brian Robbins administration) remained passionate about Coyote vs. Acme even though they lost out on Coyote. However, Warners stood in the way, sources tell me: Paramount wasn’t allowed to date Coyote vs. Acme on or within three weekends of another Warner Bros title. Hence, Paramount couldn’t find the right release date, and ultimately, the David Ellison regime came in and Coyote vs. Acme was in the rearview mirror as far as any sub-distribution pact with Ketchup.

Before everyone cries "flop" I need to emphasize this: This is a movie released at the end of August, a slow time for theatrical movies, from a tiny distributor with nowhere near the resources of a WB or a Disney $15.5 million is a *fantastic* opening weekend all things considered

“Be Strong enough to be gentle.” Peter Cullen tells the story of how his brother inspired the voice he would use to play Optimus Prime. It’s a simple yet poignant quote that sums up why Optimus and Peter are so beloved. Til All Are One. 💔

In addition to being the voice of Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen was also the OG promo voice for Toonami back in the day. His voice really elevated these promos, and help made the block so beloved. You could just feel the Aura and hype when he narrated these promos. 💔💔

I wasn't a Transformers kid growing up, but I certainly was a Winnie the Pooh kid. As an avid viewer of "The New Adventures of Winnie The Pooh" I was very familiar with Peter Cullen's take on Eeyore, a role which he added his own touch to while staying true what came before. He will be missed. RIP

Coyote Vs ACME really is a tremendous victory for movies in general honestly, I’m not even joking. The film would’ve been locked up forever if not for everybody rising up against greedy studio execs and demanding its release. It proves that People REALLY do have the power against corporations.
