I keep thinking about how often the mass layoffs in media, government and big companies, especially women and people of color, will lead to poorer outcomes for years because the people who would point out potential problems or blind spots were deemed non-essential, a "bad fit", and/or too expensive.
I find it so off putting when reporters say hobnobbing with politicians is necessary bc “access“, bc more often then not it just provides cover for them to enjoy proximity to power.

Seems tailor-made for this platform to rage about, but I barely saw anything. And it got coverage! But “US Military shoots US Citizen dead on US soil” seems like it ought to dominate the news cycle.
