I am exasperated with people accusing programmers of "gatekeeping" programming. We were practically dragging people through the gate. Do you know why a mindless LLM can tell you so much great programming information? It's because we've been sharing that information for free online for decades.
This is your reminder that things /will/ get better. I know you're hot, you're tired, things are hard, and the world is overwhelming and exhausting. But, you have to be there to see it. You have to stay alive. When we get there one day, the celebrations will be legendary, I just know it. 💚

I think a lot about how fundamental the Digimon anime was in drawing me in with stories about children dealing with growing up, trauma and responsibility in a world of Adults despite its veneer of cute or edgy designs. It treats the children that watch it with maturity rather than coddling them.

In Elden Ring, Alexander the Warrior Jar says "The fear simply assures me the ordeal is worth undertaking!" And I have a postcard sized image of him saying that stuck on my mirror to remind me of this exact sentiment. Do it scared.
the phrase "do it scared" has done so much for my mental health i cannot stress how lifechanging it is to realize: if you are scared of doing something (especially if it can be beneficial to you), you cannot wait for yourself to not be scared. it will always seem scary. you have to do it scared

Ive been struggling lately dealing w all the mental health baggage that comes from bad parenting & abandonment. Any coping advice from those suffering from similar problems? I'm only a couple pages away from finishing a little comicbook about grief & grappling w hopelessness, stay tuned!
