Thank you so much to the American-Scandinavian Foundation for awarding me the 2024 Nadia Christensen Prize! This prize is for an outstanding literary translation from a Nordic language into English, and I was awarded it for my translation of Karoline Brændjord's 'Jeg vil våkne til verden'.

Oh I'm sorry, are you crying? Are you crying because your plagiarism machine that made stuff by copying everybody's stuff was used to train another machine that made stuff by copying stuff? Are you going to cry? Cowards, losers, pathetic

One person close to OpenAI said that distillation was a common practice in the industry and highlighted that the company offers developers a way to do this using its own platform, but said: “The issue is when you are doing it to create your own model for your own purposes.” DeepSeek did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Q: Who'd have predicted that an underfunded HE system where unis could overrecruit domestic students on fees fixed for decade - and was thus reliant on international visitors - would have been skewered by a combination xenophobic policies, inflation, and excessive building projects? A: EVERYONE.

How depressing. Was contacted about a possible book translation last year. Today they got back in touch to ask if, instead of translating the book, I'd be interested in editing the machine translation. I am SO BORED of talking about AI. It's BORING. Give me work and cash!!!!!!
