The video of our bluebird babies actually fledging the nest at 18 days old. One had already fledged, one was in the exit, and two were still in the nest box. The one climbed out, and flapped around. The last two competed to be next. They were close, and both fledged minutes later.
At the end of perhaps the best American novel ever written, John Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath", a young woman who had just lost her baby is nursing a dying man at her breast. Thank goodness no MAGAt has ever read that novel because it would cause them to suffer a complete psychotic breakdown.

Yep. I've lived my entire life as an outsider, being the only or one of the few Black kids in school, the only family in the neighborhood, workplace, etc. I learned to be clear-eyed at an early age. But when you're often a lone voice whose observations are called "jealousy", you stop talking.
I stopped thinking we'd see change after they voted in the majority for President Pu**y Tape in 2016. And nothing has made me think otherwise since. They have agency, despite so many arguing they don't, and not as many are as "controlled" as people love to claim. They are what they are.
