Swords Without Master by Epidiah Ravachol This year I had the delight of helping Unwritten Earths Symposium bring this tabletop role-playing game to book format via contributing the cover and a set of glyphs/icons that illustrate game concepts and mechanics.

Since I can't share things from my ongoing project yet, instead I'm going to brag about the late-19th century snail inkwell I've been using to draw it. Found this thing at a nearby "bottle show" for a fairly good deal, and I love it soooo much. Delightful object.

photo of a dip pen and an antique revolving inkwell. the shape of the bottle is reminiscent of a snail, and it sits in a cast-iron stand.

Working on some client illustrations that I'm having a lot of fun with lately, but in the meantime, illustrations of some food from a local fancy vegan restaurant I drew for a friend's newspaper. Really enjoyed the blood orange and coconut mocktail.

Are other people planning to replay Apollo Justice in real time (surely they are), is there an established tag people will use for this or do I need to come up with one... hashtag ApolloJusticeLive. hashtag The7YearGapIsOverBaby.

Genuinely the only thing keeping me going—but it really is keeping me going—is how good it is to see people link arms and push for this to end. I cannot stop thinking about how much love people can have for their neighbors, and how much work and money is poured into breaking that love apart.

We're in the final month of this fundraiser and desperately need more donations! Please donate, please share! This is a terrifying and horrible situation that's unfortunately not uncommon. Trans people deserve families! People who do sex work or have done sex work in the past deserve families!

Personally, I'm hoping that the excitement of finally being able to use the thumb I broke by slamming it in a car door again will give me renewed energy come mid-January. New finger bone cells, new me.

I feel a little frustrated when I see aspirational posts along the lines of "2026 is gonna be better I can feel it" cause it feels so dismissive of the current situation. But. But for myself & others I hope we can find energy in hope in the new year. I hope we can create/fight for/find more joy.

Wild that I've been reading about Juls and Landon for a decade and a half, they're so dear to me. So much has happened to them! They've grown so much! Congratulations (and thank you) Nicole!!

I was looking at my original deviantart profile, to be sad about deviantart & the modern internet or whatever, and happened upon a journal entry with an exact date for when I got into ace attorney (my 14th birthday, 2008). Been thinking about narumitsu for over half of my life....

There's lots of different symbols, and sometimes they get combined (like the snake & Z-rod). These are some of them, skilfully drawn by the extremely talented @elemei.bsky.social for my book, Carved in Stone, available for pre-order now 👀👀. (4)

Various animal symbols , as part of a larger cropped page from Carved in Stone. The animals include: wolf, snake, bull, salmon, stag, boar, eagle, goose, horse, a "bird" (quite duck-like), a "cat" (quite monkey-like) and a "beast".Various geometric Pictish symbols (like crescents, circles, and lines) and representational symbols (like a mirror and comb).

Thank you for bearing with me while I posted a lot all at once! It was fun for me to revisit, I hope it is fun to look at as well. We're caught up to 2025 now, so eventually I'll share some more of this year's work I haven't posted here yet.
