really disappointed with how many big youtubers are using that new youtube AI thumbnail feature, the lighting makes it so obvious i would rather watch a video with a thumbnail made in ms paint do better.

It’s not hypocrisy from his perspective, because he thinks that white people are superior and linked by a mythical shared “western civilisation”. A white person might technically be an “immigrant”, but not as much as a non-white person is an immigrant by definition “Immigrant” is code for non-white

I don’t mean this to be waspish at all, because I know people mostly mean well, but I feel like ‘but Elon Musk is an immigrant’! Stuff really misses the point. He’s an unrepentant white suprematist with literal Nazi sympathies. Word games re ‘hypocrisy’ just feels…. Not where the convo should be

AI rarely gets depicted negatively in the news, and when it does all they focus on is the potentiality for it to become sentient and go rogue, implying that makes it exceptional. “Ooo AI is so powerful it’s scaaaaaaary”

As *tech*, AI isn't exceptional. It's not exceptionally wicked. It's not exceptionally good. Take away the accompanying, galactic-scale stock-swindle, and we'd call AI's apps "plug-ins" and we'd use them and abuse them in the same way that we've used every other technology: www.normaltech.ai 1/

It’s not even artificial intelligence, it’s just an NPC with a really complex dialog tree. It doesn’t think, it just picks a path based on patterns and doesn’t understand its actions. I’m more concerned about the resources it uses and the insane amount of capital that investors are spending on it
