If anything, I think one of the best aspects of this administration is that by completely bungling the oil shipping industry due to naked imperialism, it ended up exposing the fragility and continued impracticality of fossil fuels, and will make people seriously start considering alternatives.
This comment on the video essay echoes a talking point I've seen a lot in more anti-Jedi circles: that Yoda and the Council "didn't give Anakin the tools he needed" to make the right decisions, or that Anakin didn't have a strong support system.
Imagine spending your one wild & precious life coming up with psychotic new ways to be evil & punitive to people who wish to initiate or improve their skills at creating/offering beauty, healing, comfort, solace, connection, alternative worlds, education, & all else encompassed by these disciplines

An excellent comment that I got from @cappn.bsky.social on the Trial of the Jedi video essay that has some amazing insight into how trapped the Jedi became in Sheev's machinations.
Nolan does a very interesting visual with Odysseus that I loved in Serenity as well. The Operative in Serenity is a man with no name, no backstory, no rank, and no desires of his own beyond the agenda of the Alliance. He says in his introduction that he doesn't exist.
I only realized after seeing Nolan's Odyssey how much Namine serves as a Calypso figure for Sora in Chain of Memories. Luring him into her fortress, isolating him by blocking out his memories of his companions, before finally having to restore his memories and set him free.
Odysseus feared that all of his mistakes would be forgotten by history. Therefore, it'll behoove us all to also see the Hadestown pro-shoot while it's in theaters, so as to understand even more clearly why we tell these old stories again.
Had a lot of fun working with Ben on this one! I worked on the courtroom sections, so it’s a delight to see that the full video is one of his best essays yet!

Only about 30 minutes in. Finally a proper deconstruction of what attachment means. I've run into so mamy brick walls with friends who are so hung up on the western definition that I can't discuss star wars along these lines Can't wait to wash more dishes and cook tonight so I can finish it! :3

Two decades removed from the Prequel Trilogy, we are. Far too long, both in evaluating it and realizing the need for a compassionate world, people have come to appreciate it. Until now, at least the former. Thanks as always for your work.

I guess I am comfortable saying that in cases where people you formerly respected, or presumed you did, are now actively choosing to sunset their own minds & surrender them to machines invented by incels and billionaires, then yes there should be a stigma for that. This is what society is for
