Do you rely on the incredibly rich data sets and research from NOAA/NMFS/NWS? Please download them now. Ocean currents, driftnet studies, temp data . . .this is really important stuff.

Almost all NOAA Research websites that rely on cloud services - including Amazon, Google and WordPress - are poised to disappear at midnight ET Saturday after a contract was targeted for "early termination." Labs may also feel the effects. Story for @bloomberg.com (free link):

A bird's eye view of a giant, snowy mountain range involving sharp peaks and rocky strata. These mountains are made in Minecraft, but in a world with a 512 block height limit. Picture taken with a shadermod, I cannot remember exactly whichA panoramic scene of a semi-tropical island, hovering over the light blue ocean with clear water, progressing from beach to bushlands to rockier and denser forest, ending with snowy mountains in the distance, underneath a cloudy sky. All made in Minecraft, trees from Paleozoey and others, image taken with custom shaders and Distant Horizon mod, but I do not recall exactly which shaders.A cylindrical floating island with an overgrown copper arch on top, embedded in more rock. A small waterfall is flowing off the left side, and the island is covered in teak trees of various sizes. Picture with Bliss shaders, trees by QuintenA bird's eye view of a large tropical desert/mesa island, centered in a shallow ocean, surrounded and partially covered by low-hanging clouds. The island consists of several mesa-style peaks, and has a number of fantasy-esque stone overhangs. It is also populated by several settlements and large bridges supported by giant horns or bones, and covered in giant trees. There are several caves with glowing crystals inside them. The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.
