Started Jade Cocoon: Story of Tamamayu (PS1). It’s pretty slow going as the combat is slow, but I’ve acclimated to its more low key rhythm. Really enjoy the whole Princess Monoke + Pokemon premise.

My favorite song from Final Fantasy 7 Remake is hands down Jessie's Theme. It's been a great song to just to have in the background. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS4F...

I've been a pretty big PS1 kick recently. Eyeing more games to play that I missed the first go around. The PS1's variety is just so amazing. My only fear is getting choice paralysis 😅
Just wrapped up Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, which I haven't played in decades. I love this game. Klonoa as a character is really interesting when it comes to 2D platformers. The ending to his games always leave you melancholic.
Rolled credits on one ending. There's 3 routes, but I'll have to tackle the other 2 another day!
After bouncing off FF Thpe-0, I decided to go retro and play a game I only rented from Blockbuster back in the day — Vanguard Bandits for the PS1. A simple turnbased strategy RPG, but it has cool fantasy mechs. Hell yeah.
It's so cool of SEGA to make an OST so good they had to bolt a game around it.
Still need to play the first one. But I'm happy they're able to make a sequel!
Dungeon Antiqua 2 coming to PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch on August 20 AMATA Games will release Shiromofu Factory-developed dungeon crawler RPG sequel Dungeon Antiqua 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox… http://www.gematsu.com/2026/07/dungeon-antiqua-2-coming-to-ps5-xbox-series-and-switch-on-august-20
I've been thinking about my top 10 games over time and realized that most still came out when I was between the ages of 6-18. New games rarely ever break into it even though I like new games. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.
Can I get some lost media found hype for this uniquely awesome-looking two-part Win95 RPG by Cybelle, called Dungeon Toon: Hottara Land no Ohimesama?? 😸 Available from today at: archive.org/details/dung... (Part 1) archive.org/details/dung... (Part 2)
Haven’t done one of these in a while! #randomgamesaturday Mistwalker and the Gooch’s Away Shuffle Dungeon for the DS. I remember being hyped about this because the premise was very much Soul Blazer, one of my favorite SNES games.

Happy 28th anniversary to one of my favorite games, Brave Fencer Musashi!
After FFXIII, I'm trying to play FF Type-0 HD... and it's kinda rough going. It plays very stiff and I don't quite understand what's happening during missions/battles. Situational awareness is pretty bad when in combat. I might bounce off it. Which sucks because I find the world very interesting.
Rolled credits on FFXIII. That was a confusing ending. Had to read this thread to make sense of it: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/... There was slightly more machinations that the game doesn't relay to you... so confusing. But glad I got through it! I give it about a 7/10.

About 30 hours into FFXIII. Anytime I’ve tried to play it I’ve bounced off it within the first 3 hours, so new record for me! The pacing of the game is wonky and the characters don’t really click until 10 hours in. But I’m in the groove so I’m chugging along.
I always feel so sorry for those hypothetical people who play these destined to die mobile games.

I’ve been watching a lot of Anime Expo content on socials… and I can’t handle it when people say “activations” as if it’s a normal thing to say 😞

Oh man. I've always loved the chibi designs from the Gem Fighter series of games since I was a kid. My first website in the 90s ever had a picture of chibi Ryu and a guestbook to sign! These look great!
The artwork of Dragon Valor most likely used for promoting the #PlayStation release in Japan. I believe this is the work of Taro Yamazaki since he's credited as the illustrator/character designer for the game. Usual upscale/clean/retouch process applied.
I don’t want this point to be lost in the discourse. Going digital-only means inequity for people who cannot afford internet or constantly purchasing new games. Libraries provide opportunities for people to experience games they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford, and that will be lost.
My child loves going to the library and checking out a new video game every week. Going digital only eliminates libraries as a way people can access games.
I wonder if this is all according to schedule to become digital-only platforms or did the advent of AI really turn it up a notch since every cost of good and manufacturing increased in price. You will own nothing and you will like it. *sigh*
