The bad WaPo podcast doesn't exist to get viewers or listeners. It clearly is a scheme to make people like me mad, to prove to Bezos that they're asking the right questions/provoking debate, and as such, it will be a success even if not a single soul checks it out. I refuse to be used in such a way!

It can be really hard to look like the person on the left and imagine folks will ever treat you like a woman and see you as a woman. But the thing is- they *will* if you change your presentation to tell them to. Not everyone, but closer than seems possible. Sooner and easier than you think!

Started just before turning 38, now just about to turn 40. HRT is a miracle (ok, also shaving off ludicrous facial hair). It's worth it at any age. You can *like* yourself!

We took the kid and her bestie to a cat-themed escape room and revolving sushi tonight. And now I'm waiting by her bed until she falls asleep, to complete her perfect evening. Not gonna lie, really into this whole 'being a good mom' thing.

Just finished Little Women- the second half was a slog, the romances are awkward, and the 'advice to married women' stuff makes the skin crawl. But then that ending, as Lou imagines Jo building and living in a wonderland for *boys*, and his prose just comes back to life. God I love trans books!

Checking with the trans collective for estrogen knowledge...my (shitty) endocrinologist was telling me to diet in theory because estradiol raises triglycerides. My cursory research suggests that's oral estradiol only, and injections lower levels? Mostly building ammo that he sucks :)

Ugh. Just met with the endocrinologist, after 6 months wait. He was very unconcerned with my incredibly low Estrogen levels. But he sure was interested in telling me to diet because I'm fat. I ended up not even bothering to ask about Prog, as that would give him another chance to be a jackass.

Sometimes I randomly remember that there's a great family movie that climaxes with Oliver Cromwell killing himself because he cannot face being a werewolf. And that just makes me so happy. I like liking stuff.

Imagine an entire cheery article on self expression ending in this paragraph on children. “Girlguiding’s new look is being launched shortly before a change in the charity’s membership policy from 6 September, which will force transgender girls to leave.”

Schools should learn from Guides. Being forced to wear clothes you don’t choose is bad for children’s confidence www.theguardian.com/society/2026...

I went into the Hadestown filmed version largely blind, and was so moved by Allie Daniels- a trans woman- as one of the Fates trio. She sounded like me (but much, much, much better)- not like an androgenous tenor-alto-ish hybrid, like ME. While unambiguously playing a woman. All the feels.

So a theater program the kid is starting matches new families with older ones. I'm matched with a woman I met in another context earlier in transition, and got weird vibes from. So I found her Facebook. She's full MAGA and thinks trans folks are pedophiles. Lovely. No notes universe.

As my two year egg crack anniversary draws near, there's some stuff I'm kind of embarrassed not to have figured out, like, at all. 1. Lipliner 2. Bras 3. How to form friendships 4. High Heels I should try to knock one or two of those out in the next couple of weeks.

"decisions about trans care for minors should be made by their parents" is an anti-trans policy position, inhumane to the point of absurdity, which only sounds pro-trans to people who aren't paying attention. what those words mean is "the children of bigots should be left to suffer with no recourse"

"decisions about whether or when minors access transgender medical care should be made by parents, not politicians" actually they should be made by the minors in question, who are human beings. if you don't need parental consent to experience one kind of puberty why should you need it for the other

Harumph. My new therapist is really into "exercises" which gets kind of frustrating because I HAVEN'T EVEN GIVEN HER THE DEEP LORE YET! DELVE INTO ME, THE MOST INTERESTING GIRL IN THE WORLD! DON'T MAKE ME DOOOO STUUUUUFF!

Hey, let's be fair. You can play IF: 1. You live in a place that isn't anti-trans. 2. You want to play a sport that isn't anti-trans. 3. You are playing at a low enough level no broad ban applies (like the NCAA). 4. Your parents are OK with it (you are their property, after all). See? Reasonable.
