When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore. When your SpaceX rocket hits the moon like a big piece of junk and you don't give a shit, you're a moron.
The NHS doesn't need "preparation warnings." It needs *funding*. A currency-issuing government can afford to staff hospitals year-round for predictable demand. This is a spending choice, not a resource shortage. #MMT #Economics #UKPolitics #UKEconomics

Rupert Lowe makes Nigel Farage look like a normal nazi.
I think what's probably happened here is Zack got asked to comment on a case he wasn't familiar with at a press conference he'd called about climate change and some people are reading a little too much into it.
A retired Royal Navy Commander writes to The Times on Farage's latest 'small boats' plan. Perhaps the most effective Murdoch media jibe at the Reform boss so far wp.me/p15p2Q-hm8
Ret’d Navy Commander puts Farage right on ‘small boats’ plan
The above letter appears in The Times on 5th August. It can be understood as the traditional Tory ruling class putting right a challenger. Obviously the politics of the letter writer are not known.…

I’m glad the President has his priorities straight.
Blackrock US Billionaire is using 13,000 gallons of water a day to keep his grass green and trees watered in Wessex, England, where drought has been declared. They just think they can use everything up because the rules only apply to you.
It’s time to act. And when we do we won’t just avoid the worst effects of climate breakdown - but we will lower bills permanently, help our communities thrive - and give a grounded sense of hope for generations to come.
Zack Polanski has called for fossil fuel producers to be made to finance firefighting helicopters, following a series of recent fires across the country He also called on PM Burnham to stop new oil and gas drilling in the North Sea, including the Jackdaw & Rosebank fields off the Scottish coast
Good morning! Start the day with a buzz. A bee's bum is the gift that keeps giving. 😉😂🐝
Talarico’s argument is simple: Stop treating marijuana like a crime. Legalize it. Regulate it. Tax it. Stop wasting police resources on low-level marijuana offenses. Clear the records of people whose lives have been derailed by nonviolent marijuana convictions.
Not finished viewing yet. Excellent of course, from @sheridanvk.bsky.social The only query I have at this point is that doesn't explain why gvt borrows it's own money Also shows need to develop GP tax policy - what I should be doing...

The government’s transphobic code of practice is now up and running. But we’re not going to stand still and take it, we're supporting a legal challenge led by a trans person and a trans inclusive organisation. But we can only do this together. Will you join us?👇 goodlaw.social/ldco
For me the important thing is how you use the insights on how the monetary system works to get the outcomes you want, which for me and the Greens is an outcome grounded in ecological economics, I personally would specifically say an ecosocialist approach.

The Righteous Rupert Lowe-Life preached about leaches sucking the financial blood out of Britain. This is the same Whoopert Lowe-Life whose company took £100k in furlough cash despite making £7.9 million profit He really didn’t need it but it was free, it was available so he took it like a leach

Doe she explain who will work for these additional health care services without labour from overseas, which I assume he is agianst?
"We can't afford to fix schools" is a lie told by people who understand budgets perfectly well. The question is never whether the currency issuer has the money. The question is whether we have teachers, materials, and the will to build. #MMT #Economics #UKPolitics

My column on how capital becomes a death cult. Faced with a choice between profit and human life, the radical right chooses profit. Then it tries to persuade us that mass death is what we want. It's the new phase of climate denial: accept your fate, earthlings. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

The framing assumes a zero-sum choice between jobs and green investment. A currency issuer can fund both. The real question: why isn't the government simply offering a Job Guarantee at living wage? That's how you solve NEETS and regional decay at once. #MMT #Economics #UKPolitics
