The co-founder of the 2024 National Uncommitted Movement, Abbas Alawieh, decisively won his primary to become a State Senator in Michigan. Abbas was endorsed by both Bernie Sanders and Gretchen Whitmer. Abbas Alawieh also privately met with former VP Kamala Harris last month upon her request.

honestly im really enjoying the trial and error of using technology by hand like tableau/excel to really get a sense of working with data. I don't think I would be having these concepts click the same if I ran it all through AI

AIPAC is the biggest source of Republican money in Democratic elections, and now they are making clear they will spend even more to defeat Democrats in November. They advocate for policies the vast majority of Democrats viscerally disagree with. No Democrat should be taking money from AIPAC.

In other Michigan news, the state looks set to elect it's first transgender lawmaker. Joanna Whaley won her Democratic primary and will compete in November for a state house seat, beating a primary opponent who tried and failed to disqualify her for not running under her deadname

Do centrist Dems realize that the incentive structure they're establishing by admonishing one of the few major Arab American figures who unequivocally endorsed Harris despite nothing being conceded on Gaza? The lesson for those Arabs will be to uh, not do that again.

"Arab American endorses the Democratic nominee for president even though she refused to budge on the question of whether or not Palestinians being killed by US made bombs was bad" doesn't make the Arab American in question look bad, it makes the person attacking them look bad.

El-Sayed says criticism he supported Uncommitted is “sad and desperate.” He tells me he endorsed Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign because he was serving Wayne County and understood the threat of Donald Trump.
