Me, testing an AI coding tool to see how it does converting an image to black and white in Pygame This is not necessarily simple, but there are two built in transform functions that let you do it. This is a thread of what the AI attempted to do It gave solutions that would work, but really poorly

As I said during the last Steam Next Fest, yes, there were a ton of low-effort games obviously made with AI. And yes, they were all over the demo showcase page. For about one day. Once things fell into place and games were ranked based on what people played, you had to dig HUNDREDS deep to find AI.

It's always good to have this perspective, because not long ago EA declared they were a Blockchain company and heralded play to earn as the future of the industry, and that future quickly evaporated.

As someone with ADHD who genuinely struggles day to day because of it; fuck all the way off. Don't use my neurodivergency and disability to promote your life destroying garbage. It is absolutely vile and disgusting behaviour. I hope the walls come crashing down on this bullshit as soon as possible.

The story around AI used to be about generating more. For many neurodivergent professionals, the bigger benefit is offloading invisible labor: remembering what you promised, the dozen tabs open in your brain, the thread you meant to reply to. ⬇️

Had to buy myself a new audio interface because my 10 year old Scarlett 2i2 finally shat the bed. DEEPLY amused to open the new one (SSL 2 Mk 2) and find that it goes to 11.

Douze Dixièmes, the developers who made my favourite game so far this year, Mio: Memories in Orbit are shutting down and I'm fucking devastated. If you like a good metroidvania and have an appreciation for absolutely stunning hand drawn art, go buy it, because it's genuinely a masterpiece.

God, it makes me so sad that so many people are still just running headfirst into using AI with no care for the consequences to other people. How difficult is it to just care about other humans?

This is honestly PR malpractice, one of those cases of the PR person interjecting that instantly makes it seem like you're hiding something. But at the same time, Adams comes off terrible here because he gets asked an extremely straightforward question and immediately freezes.

We asked the Crystal Dynamics team about its use of generative AI in developing Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. Here’s what Jeff Adams, experience director on the game, had to say.

Man, OOT really does just keep coming back and surviving on nostalgia alone. Unless they've put in some serious work to update the mechanics, it just doesn't even remotely hold a candle to modern games.
