A 5-year-old Texan just spent the first day of school in an ICE detention center. ICE kidnapped Liam Tadeo on his way to a soccer game with his dad. Liam should be in kindergarten. Instead, our government has thrown him in a prison camp hundreds of miles from home.
Sometimes society at large rejects certain ideas because they’ve been thoroughly shown to be wrong and also because they suck and the people who espouse them suck and when someone comes around arguing those ideas should be part of some edgy modern debate we can and should shun them and move on.

I mean, seriously. Were there politicians back in 1945 who thought "Yeah we should just reform the Schutzstaffel. It would be politically foolish to say we should defund or abolish them. I bet we can reign them in by re-writing laws that already exist. I'm sure they'll follow them this time."

I know you're not allowed to say this during the current debate, but the reason the left dominates academics, art, comedy, and music is that the right has stupid, discredited ideas, they're not funny, and dull resentment does not make for good art. No grand conspiracy required.

Staying in power matters more to Donald Trump than anything else.
It's funny how some cis people are saying you have to support Amy Acton in Ohio because she's better than the alternative. Better for who? Ohio already passed a ton of anti-trans legislation, a lot of which was vetoed by a Rep. Governor. It still went into effect. It can't get much worse.
Also, Kansas, North Carolina, and Kentucky have Dem governors but since they have overwhelming Republican legislative majorities, they simply overrode the governors and passed the legislation anyways. There really isn't much of a benefit to supporting a Dem caving on trans issues.
