The disability community needs allies. We need people to understand we’re in the middle of a eugenicist cull. When Dr Fauci publicly declared the vulnerable would “fall by the wayside”, he was fueling the fire. He deemed people like me expendable Acceptable casualties to achieve “back to normal”

We will be ready to have a real discussion about Covid when we accept the fact that “the vulnerable will fall by the wayside,” said by Fauci, under Biden, was eugenicist policy.

I look forward to the day when we can accept a person's gender identity with the same air as accepting a person's favorite color. Where ALL accessibility aides are as normalized as glasses, the most common. Mamdani gives me hope for that future. The rest of the government, not so much.

Although it's a lil embarassing it took this long, I'm happy to announce that I finally added alt text to every image on my website that I could. I'm still trying to figure out if there's a setting that lets me do it for blog post images. Working on it!

Came across a woman with learning disabilities who had been effectively locked out of the playstation she owned because it presented her with a QR code for age verification. She couldn't play the games she bought nor talk with her overseas partner in-game. She was in her forties. #disabilitymonth

I genuinely respect and want to support all my fellow authors in this really tough time for artists. Thing is, I can't just not comment about how we shouldn't be using #AI when I'm seeing people use it. Boldly, brazenly, out and proud, making jokes, sharing snippets, AI cover images, seeking advice.

Speaking Directly: Always engage directly with the person with the disability, rather than going through their companion or interpreter.

JSYK one of the subliminal social tactics of AI rn is to reframe every conversation away from "should we use it" to "how should we use it." This is to make us think the former is a foregone conclusion. It is not. WE CAN DESCIDE TO STOP USING THE EARTH-KILLING IDIOT BOTS IF WE WANNA.

Does anyone realizing how fucking scary it is to be a disabled person while whole medical systems are onboarding AI and LLMs into their patient care? Did anyone ask us about it first? Of course not. Not only do I hate AI for all the environment destroying, suicide-inducing shit, but it gets worse.

Hale Zukas and the Rolling Quads insisted that disabled people should control where they lived, how they worked and what services they received—a philosophy later encapsulated by the disability rights movement's rallying cry: NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US

#SpoonieAuthChat Beau: So a mysterious letter turns up, telling me my father's in trouble and... Cinder: I didn't warn him so he would come running to the Witch's den, I warned him so he would STAY AWAY. Sure, I already have to cook, clean, and make the poisons, why don't I just fix this too?
