One thing I notice though: every story I read about bike lanes tends to be illustrated with a photo of a white person in neon cycling gear and a helmet when a lot of the folks it actually helps are day laborers on cheap bikes and working folks on share bikes

In 2023, sfbabc built the first Bay Area gurriella bus bench in Berkeley to call attention to inadequate seating. In 2024, city leaders committed to installing benches at AC Transit stops. July 2026 the first round of new bus seating arrives.
