This bar is playing Money by Punk Floyd and I'm sad about Kevin Gausman again
I still don't like the Gausman trade. But otherwise, this was a very good deadline for the Jays, imo
I was as annoyed at Hoffman as anyone. I was scared everytime he came in this year, even though he started doing better. But he had a good attitude. He didn't complain when he was moved out of the closer role. I wish him well
Don't trade Springer. I would also like you to keep Scherzer if at all possible. Thank you
I've been looking at the Jays Reddit for trade deadline stuff and I've read the words "asset management" so often that the words have lost all meaning
And Michigan reps wonder why Canadians are pissed at them. A country whose word means less than nothing.
The Gordie Howe Bridge Is What American Betrayal Looks Like Canada spent billions on the crossing. Trump turned it into a shakedown thewalrus.ca/the-gordie-h...
The Jays are now trading top prospects, so I guess they're trying to retool on the fly?
"Yeah, it's 'Civic Holiday'. I'm not sure what it means. I think technically it's Simcoe Day? No one really calls it that. Anyway, I can't work because this holiday is very important to me."
Once a month, I get to explain all of Canada's made up holidays as I complain that I have to work.
Can't keep a guy like that on your team 😉
I rarely comment on departing players, but Kevin Gausman is different. A thoughtful, reliable and impressive person to cover. All of the reasons #BlueJays fans were drawn to Gausman are genuine and real. Model player, model representative of this organization. He did it right.
I know I've been extra obnoxious about the Jays selling at the deadline & I'm sorry. Sports makes you feel things. When something good happens, you cheer because you're feeling something. You don't cheer "good asset management" even if it's important. So, when things go poorly, you feel things too
Anyway, just let me hate Rogers again. I never should have stopped.
It was nice having the Jays be good for a single season. It seriously was. I enjoyed it so much. I had the absolute best time. I'm so sad that it's over so soon. That's why I'm so annoyed about this season and the selling of players, because the winning was so much damn fun. And now it's over
I wish the Jays kept Gausman. I know that's "poor asset management and "management malpractice" or whatever, but the team is going to be bad for the near future. There might not be baseball next year. It would have been good for team and fan morale to keep him. Get mad at me all you want
The Toronto Blue Jays: Gotta rebuild already. No choice but to pay less money for worse players. You can't expect us to be good TWO YEARS IN A ROW can you?
For my next Jays jersey, should I get "Cash Considerations" or "Years of Team Control?" So many fun options to root for
Rogers never planned to have a World Series team. It happened and they went with it, but being in the middle is where management is happy
Tells you everything you need to know about this fuckass baseball team that they're only 4.5 games out of a playoff spot and not a single person inside or outside of the club thinks they have a shot
Don't worry, if there's a season next year, Rogers will definitely raise ticket prices
Impossible to truly comprehend what a collective failure of a baseball team this is. Top to bottom, everyone is guilty. Except Gausman, ironically. At least he gets to get out. Not to be too hyperbolic or reactionary but all forms of management of this team should be fired.
Anyway, I know most of the Jays played like garbage this year, but also fuck Rogers and fuck the front office
But I was told that the Jays would almost certainly get TOP PROSPECTS for Gausman. These guys seem like... okay prospects? Where's the "haul"?
