Good. Because we still have a general election to win. Everyone get on board, please.
NEWS — Haley Stevens has endorsed Abdul El-Sayed in the Michigan U.S. Senate race against Republican Mike Rogers.
Brown man scary, Muslim name bad. That's the core of the GOP. That's what they believe.
JD Vance: "We don't want the next administration, whoever -- god forbid you're gonna have President El-Sayed in three years ... "
El-Sayed outspent 13-to-1 and won by multiple points. Progressives won up and down the ballot, with big victories in House and state-level races. Major ballot initiatives went well in deep red states. What is you even talking bout, @politico.com ??
Progressives didn’t get the big election night they wanted
NBC Calls it for Abdul El-Sayed to win the Democratic nomination for Senate in Michigan. We're waiting on AP call and another network.
the lesson of tonight is that everyone needs to lock the fuck in for @peggyflanagan.bsky.social
Also, any win when outspent a gabzilltrillion-to-one - much of it ad hominem negative - seems to imply an impressive amount of strength and electoral resilience.
The correct response to AES underperforming the polls is he is weakest in a demo that will crawl over broken glass to vote for anything with a D next to their name.
Jordan was an early Courage Candidate, pledging to pursue impeachment
It isn't officially called yet, but with 99% of the vote in, I think it's safe to say that MO-4 (D) goes to attorney Jordan Herrera. He defeats podcast host Hartzell Gray 30-29 & is up by 1,047 votes.
Obviously MGP winning isn't ideal in a vacuum, but this is a very losable district for Dems that she will likely hold. She's not Manchin on the VORP-scale (ie, very frustrating as a Dem, but the most likely alternative was a GOPer), but you could argue she's close to Golden-level VORP.
Decision Desk HQ projects Marie Gluesenkamp Perez and John Braun win the WA US House 3 Primary #DecisionMade: 11:18 PM EDT
This is a really really great result in a critical election that wasn't getting a ton of attention! GOP wanted a more partisan state supreme court, and voters rejected that effort.
NEW: Voters have rejected Republicans' scheme to unseat the Kansas Supreme Court's Dem-appointed majority and overturn abortion rights. Amendment 1 would have let the GOP replace the system of a nominating commission, gubernatorial appointment, and retention elections with direct partisan elections
A number of credible analysts are saying versions of this when looking at the various regions of Michigan. No one I've seen making a call yet, but it looks great for El-Sayed.
The numbers coming out of Detroit are not enough for Stevens. It’s a bloodbath
Big primary day today with elections in KS, MI, MO, VA, and WA. If you live there, vote. If you know someone who lives there - especially Michigan - call them, and make sure they vote. November determines which party holds power. Primaries determine what kind of parties we have.
Important to remember that as recently as ~20 years ago even a Republican would have probably ended up dropping out after a statement this bad. Hard to imagine that happening now. Because this is what the modern GOP is.
It was this one, and, yes, I do believe that was an All In first.
The effective federal corporate income tax rate: 1950: 50% 1990: 25% 2020: 13% Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate. That is how we will pay for it.
Good article on the MA Congressional challengers, including @patrickroath.bsky.social & @jeromiewhalen.bsky.social My only qualm: the article frames both as clear underdogs... I'm not so sure. www.wgbh.org/news/politic...
Why more than half of Massachusetts’ House reps are facing primary challengers this year
There’s more to this Democratic primary cycle than just Moulton vs. Markey.

there's a lot of things you could say that explain why someone is not fit for public office but "he cheats at a solo sport " should be all you ever need
Arnold Palmer has the all time PGA record for shooting his age when he hit a 71 at the age of 71. But Trump of course is shooting a 70 at age 80 making him a much better golfer. Why is everyone laughing?
Trump: “The Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship! Thank you very much to all of those who participated. I won with a 70, & am so honored in that, unlike the rest of the field, I’m given very little time to practice, bc I’m focused on many other things. It’s called TALENT, and I have it”
This is obviously not how anything works. Most abused people don't report their attackers. Even the ones that get reported rarely result in conviction. Many victims stay with their attackers. If a sitting Congressman doesn't know this, he's too stupid to hold elected office.
Rep. Max Miller: "These are incredibly serious criminal accusations. If these accusations were true, I would be in jail — I would be. My former wife would not have been offering to cook me dinner and inviting me to playgrounds. Think about that."
This is good and important reporting. And negative stories about Stevens are a newsy hook (vote El-Sayed!). But, it's pretty frustrating that someone as powerful as Gillibrand is involved in this and it doesn't get attention until it's oppo for a high profile Senate race. This is News, period.
NEW: Corporate media zero in signs of antisemitism on the left. Meanwhile, one of Rep. Haley Stevens's most powerful backers in her Senate race attends a Bible study that teaches that the Jews killed Jesus...

New, from me: It is fine to disagree with aspects of the pandemic response. But what we saw at Fauci's hearing was something different: a show trial where cranks tried to threaten and shift blame to an public servant. Here is why this is bad for all of us.🧵 donmoynihan.substack.com/p/watching-t...

this is extremely good, not because I think Harris is likely to be the nominee again but because this is how expanding the Court becomes table stakes for everyone who wants to run for President
Harris Says Supreme Court Should Expand to 13 Justices https://politicalwire.com/2026/07/31/harris-says-supreme-court-should-expand-to-13-justices/
it’s depressing how many dems turn to gutter racism when their backs are against the wall
She knows she’s losing so she said let’s just go mask off.
Thomas recently gave a speech that was a warmed-over Glenn Beck rant about how "progressives," i.e. the entire American left-of-center and thus de facto synonym for Democrats, are ideologically anti-American. It was intellectually insipid mush but more importantly, it's extremely overt partisanship.
They're not a Trump court, they're a Republican court, and the fact those two things align 80-90% of the time instead of literally 100% doesn't mean they're therefore admirably independent. To even describe them as ideologically conservative is too generous. They are partisan politicians.
If today your excuse is "They don't have a House majority!" next year your excuse will be "They don't have 67 seats in the Senate!" There will always be excuses. They have to start fighting for freedom and democracy. Now. 1/2
They are not acting. They are doing nothing. You make excuses for them. but after the mid-terms you'll just make different excuses for them. We've seen this movie before. Pelosi won big in 2018, then immediately said "He's not worth impeaching" and let the massive crime spree continue.
An absolute failure of government, enabled by a lawless racist SCOTUS majority, that will destroy lives and communities and likely cause many deaths. The MAGA GOP wants this, but this wouldn't happen without the Court, which should have stopped it. We have to fix the Court.
Last month, SCOTUS told the Trump admin it could end temporary protected status immigration programs. Today 350,000 people, mostly Haitians lose status & elderly & disabled Americans they are caregivers for will suffer along with them. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/27/b...
Cutting money that provides food and health care but spending $300 million to permanently deploy the military to the streets of the capital in times of peace is tinpot dictator stuff
What could up to 2k illegally deployed troop apartments cost, Michael? $148,000? Each?
