I still can’t totally understand this. They can just…eliminate us in the middle of summer without any deliberation? This reeks of cowardice. They acted fast bc they feel threatened

@ncte.org is un-American. If anyone would be expected to uphold the Constitutional rights of freedom of speech, press, and assembly, it would be NCTE. If they won't fight for us, who will? I encourage our CCCC leaders to, in true American fashion, declare independence from NCTE.

A couple hours ago, I woke up to messages about CCCC being dissolved and absorbed into NCTE's College Section. I don't know what this means for the 2027 conference, but I do know it'll be different, if it's held at all.

One of the things that works well for improving student writing: real-time live editing (RTLE). Students email you their writing. Then put it up on a screen; everyone sits close. Narrate as you edit the paragraph. Students find this helpful. We rarely SEE people write or narrative their choices.

A St. Paul resident says federal officers knocked on her door and asked her to identify Hmong and Asian households in her North End neighborhood last week.

For decades, cops have been trained not to shoot at moving vehicles. But the federal agents enforcing Trump’s mass deportation campaign seem not to be following this rule, and are taking a far more dangerous path.

Cops are taught not to shoot into cars. ICE keeps doing it anyway.

Immigration agents have shot at least nine people since September. All of them have been in cars.
