It's a good job I'm charming.

I watched The Best of Both Worlds last night. (And Family today.) I thought watching Emissary would work nicely in addition since Patrick Stewart has to play Locutus of Borg again. So here I am - twenty minutes into the first episode of DS9, and I now accidentally want to watch all 176 episodes.

Sisko and Picard. Very much not hitting it off.

[1980] Making of... - Eric Thompson looks at the work of BBC special effects designer Mat Irvine, whose visual effects can be found in Doctor Who, Moonbase 3 and Blake's 7, to Tomorrow's World and The Sky at Night, all the way through to the thoroughly unscientific Rentaghost, and many more besides.

45 years ago this evening, The Five Faces of Doctor Who repeat season began. But did you know that the follow-up Doctor Who and the Monsters season in 1982 was meant to be a second five-story Five Faces season or that JNT pitched three possible Seven Faces seasons for the 25th Anniversary in 1988?

Tomorrow marks 45 years since BBC2 screened The Five Faces of Doctor Who and although I'd watched Tom Baker this is what I credit as making me a fan so 2/11/26 Monday - Thursday it's an episode a day

30 YEARS AGO TODAY: The Legacy Of Reginald Perrin was a bit of a cock-up on the commissioning front, as David Nobbs would later admit. The last episode features an impressively staged march on London and news read by Angela Rippon, who left news in 1983.

The Legacy of Reginald Perrin - Episode 7

This short series (7 episodes) was made 12 years after Leonard Rossiter's death - but everyone else from the original cast (except the actor who played Tony Webster) is present.

It’s publication day for The Key to Time! A book thick enough to stun a giant squid. And next week comes the release of the paperback edition of The Chimes of Midnight. I’ve been hard at work writing Doctor Who books! (Although I refuse to believe anything involving Doctor Who constitutes work.)
