Mark it down to "surprising to some, but not me": Craig Greenberg totally swept West Louisville, and Shameka Parrish-Wright's strength were around Germantown and Clifton. IYKYK
I could not be more impressed by Zach Dembo. I was a strong supporter of Cherlynn Stevenson (she would have been a great congressperson), and I dismissed Dembo out of hand when I heard about his campaign. He really impressed throughout. I think he has a very legitimate chance to make it to DC.
My favorite inside baseball fact about the KY Elections is that the legislature moved to make the Metro Council/Metro Mayor non-partisan, but didn't mess with any other elections in Jefferson Co, leaving Shively, the tiny city in SW Louisville, as the only place with partisan city elections in KY
In baseball news, more teams in the NL Central have winning records than the entire AL
The number of people in the online left who want to re-ban sports betting but legalize more drugs is bonkers to me.
Friendly reminder that Tidal is cheaper than Spotify, pays artists more, and, well... isn't run by the dude who runs Spotify. Personally I also much prefer Tidal's algos but that's a YMMV thing. Anyway, it used to be way more expensive but it isn't anymore, and I think it's a better product.
I am excited about Will Stein and agree with other Kentucky fans than a change was for the best, but Mark Stoops was the best coach we ever had, and it's not close. That part of this really sucks.
Dog we operate the money printer we couldn't be more liquid
Trump on SNAP: "Our country has to remain very liquid because problems, catastrophes, wars -- it could be anything. We have to remain liquid. We can't give everything away."
Tidal served me the 20th anniversary of Z by My Morning Jacket and the second half of Solace by Bryson Tiller first in my "New Music" tab today Instagram of Taylor Swift, this is my most Louisville moment
Brittany Howard, Brandon Flowers, Ezra Koenig are my answers to this question
Who's the "best" frontman/frontwoman of any band that formed after the year 2000?
Psaki: Comer was a little slow to move forward with the subpoenas, at least in my view. Moskowitz: That’s actually his regular speed. He’s just a little slow in general.
Ketamine is killing our billionaires. Why don’t liberals care?

Actor Mandy Patinkin’s plea for Jews to consider how what Netanyahu’s Israeli government is doing to Gaza is not just harming Palestinians and killing kids — but also endangering Jews across the globe.
www.wdrb.com/news/jeffers... We got cops killing civilians, throwing slushees at kids, siccing dogs on people, raping kids, etc, but once they start getting into BDSM, that's when they get fired.

Very (not) excited to see this come to Kentucky next year
NEW in Bolts: Louisiana Republicans have passed a new law that effectively eviscerates people's ability to claim their innocence and seek relief once they've been convicted. A massive blow to the rights of people in prison in a state that's full of wrongful convictions: boltsmag.org/louisiana-li...
I have no inside info on this at all but based on reports of who mayors have entertained in the past few years, Louisville worked hard to get one of these franchises. Alas, they seem to only go to places with existing NBA teams
My main takeaway from the NYC Dem primary is that anybody can win if they work hard. I don't always agree with DSA people but they are the hardest working part of the Democratic coalition. Also it helps if your main opponent had to resign in disgrace after a sexual abuse scandal.
Rahm Emanuel neatly demonstrates the basic error that Democrats make when they try to step back from social issues: IT’S THE REPUBLICANS, NOT THEM, who are “talking about bathrooms and locker rooms.” You can’t fix this by changing the topic, only by defending your ideas and going on offense.
Rep. Morgan McGarvey, who broke his foot (!) on the second play of last year’s game, is nervous but excited to play again this year. He’s the likely Dem starter at catcher. #CBG25
Edmonton seems impossibly north but it's only 2 degrees of latitude above London. That's weird!
It'll be a decade or more before we'll get a good estimate about how many deaths occurred because of the destruction of US AID but when it's all figured out I expect Elon Musk to rival Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot etc in the ratio of total deaths caused to total days in power.
