I'm as shocked as you are, dear reader, that the leader of the Conservative Party would omit to mention or factor in the 11,651 prison places that were closed over the same period due to either prison closures or cell dilapidation.

Andy Burnham has claimed only 500 prison places were added between 2010 and 2024, but Kemi Badenoch says the Conservatives created 14,000 new places. Can these two claims add up? We’ve had a look at the figures 👇 fullfact.org/crime/how-ma...

I didn't know that if your lawn is all brown and caked hard in the sun and when you water it will just sit on top that if you use a dilute solution of mild liquid soap (not dish soap that acts as a wetting agent and helps the water soak in. Great for lawn recovery.

Reform's greatest trick is to make their party all about one topic and get the media to report on really only that. It's actually genius. Awful but genius. The media doesn't focus on the other policy that would privatise the NHS and would make poorer those who give them their vote. It must change

Unelected nobody Zia (Muhammad Ziauddin) Yusuf of Reform says Britain is being invaded by foreigners and wants to use huge Navy Warships to round up teeny weeny inflatable boats which is like using a tank to catch a rabbit 🙄 Fun fact - Yusuf’s parents migrated to the UK from Sri Lank in 1980’s..

Is the news here that taxpayers subsidize the things the government does? Because yeah, that's how it works. What's more expensive, five grocery stores with discounts in NYC, a la military PXes (which taxpayers subsidize) or treating people for health problems caused by food insecurity?

USA TODAY Opinion@usatodayopinion.usatoday.com · 2d ago

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

Nigel Farage just took a question from a 'journalist' at his press conference, who turned out to be his former chief adviser Raheem Kassam, who asks him why the media are being so unfair to him

The Arctic Circle just reached a temperature that once seemed almost impossible for such a frozen region: above 100°F, or 38°C … a shocking first … fragile regions are rapidly changing. Sometimes one number can tell a much bigger story … climate change is no longer distant. It’s here. It’s now.
