One match has been announced for TJPW’s Sendai show on November 22, just one month away! Yuki Arai vs. Yuki Aino vs. Yuki Kamifuku in a 3-Way Match! With Kamifuku retiring in December, this will be the last time we see all three “Yukis” face off in the same match! #tjpw

I have told industry friends about the restaurant burger analogy: imagine you go to a restaurant and order a burger and the waiter comes out and starts apologizing for producing the perfectly ok burger you ordered on the menu like they felt it was beneath them. It would feel insulting right?

"When idealism runs out, spite will keep you going until your wellspring of idealism can refill itself" is one of those things people don't appreciate enough, IMO

Love to Julia of @pillowfort.social for what I know is the hardest decision she's ever had to make. She did amazing for a very long time at a job that gets harder every year. www.pillowfort.social/posts/8413273

Lrb yep this same thing happened to Stardom in April right? TJPW seem pretty confident they can pull things off in December and I guess at least wrestling is more flexible if you can't get everybody over, but ...

Knock on effect on all of this isn't just "Horse Concert Cancelled", it's going to scare off a lot of other Japanese media franchises' attempts to bring guests over period. You plan for a year and oops, you're now in the red on budget, good will, everyone's planned schedules, and more.

we're finally seeing the tip of the spear for "these shows shouldn't be selling merch to make their series" but i can't stress enough that no one has shown a single sign of being willing to pay for episodes of a series, ESPECIALLY in advance, so i don't know how the fuck this is supposed to work

a cool thing about indie animation is that it's expected to save the entire industry, every show has to look better than the things the fans grew up on or it's a waste of time, there's no union to be found anywhere, no budget for any of it, and asking the audience to pay anything to watch is illegal
