Happy 36th anniversary of the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. To this day, disabled people still can't get married, and our rights are actively being challenged over and over. True disability inclusion happens when we're equals to our able-bodied peers.

Happy Monday all! This is a busy week for me with a trip for a heart ultrasound. I am still recovering from a upper respiratory infection as well, so no videos again this week. Thanks for always being so patient when my health keeps us from hanging out. ♥️

With layoffs at Xbox, sources indicate accessibility efforts have also been affected. What was once a champion of accessibility is now a shell of its former self, unsure if accessibility even has a place at the new Xbox. Read my first report for @aftermath.site here: aftermath.site/xbox-layoffs...

Layoffs Leave The Future Of Xbox’s Award-Winning Accessibility Efforts In Doubt

Lemme tell y'all an AI story: Yesterday, I was at Costco, selecting those big ass watermelons. An elderly gentleman spotted me & stopped. "The sweet ones," he said, "have some green & some yellow. All green--no sweet. All yellow, nah. You want half-half." Then he proceeded to select one for me.

"new cryptid just dropped" no, the internet just invented a personality for a disabled raccoon and people are trained to map constructions of monstrosity onto disability. sorry to be a buzzkill. the points about caring about disabled animals more than disabled people are right on, too.

people are being weird about the disabled raccoon in ways that I’m struggling to articulate, but I know it when I see it

Welcome to another Monday. I know many of us have been struggling with wildfires, sickness, and other trials. Try to hang in there- don't forget your water today. I am too unwell to make it up to the office- I'll keep focusing on healing so we can get back to Zelda as soon as possible. ♥️

I am a firm believer that accessibility cannot die. Tides may rise and fall, but accessibility is inevitable. Players know it, most businesses know it. The future is accessible. Let’s support each other during this time. Remember how far we’ve come, and how much further we will inevitably go 🫂♥️
