A friend of mine found these three kittens behind a Bay Area gas station. They are tame, vaccinated, and incredibly affectionate. Unfortunately, she's unable to keep them and I'm trying to find them a home. They are at risk of going to a shelter. Bay Area people, are you open to adopting?

A piece of extra advice, especially for any young professional: Don't tie your passion to your occupation. Your passion is for you and you alone. If you're fortunate, you'll work a job you enjoy, but it shouldn't be the core source of your artistic/creative drive. Not in this economy.

Hearing Jennifer Lewis talk about the losses she experienced during the AIDS crisis really contextualizes how bad it was. She said that every day she would get a phone call saying at least 3-5 people passed away, and this is just within her immediate circle - think about it nationally.

Today I learned that the NHS has "cycle responders" who are paramedics. One of my wife's coworkers was recently treated by one after collapsing in London. The bike, not surprisingly, responded much faster than the ambulance. Really cool! www.londonambulance.nhs.uk/calling-us/w...

Really Roughly: 1: Line Art 2: Refining Line art by softening some edges, darkening some more, and highlighting selectively 3: Taking chunks of the image and varying their brightness/hue a bit to create variety 4: Overlay Texture (photo or painted) and make small hand drawn tweaks to satisfaction
