The Just World fallacy is a helluva drug. The rich love getting passive income and feeling they earned everything they get, and feeling the poor deserve to be poor because they aren't making good choices. Meanwhile, many of the poor and working class go along with this in the hope they too will WIN.

There are endless studies showing this and also the financial and societal benefits of universal basic income and or housing-first policies but the U.S. never goes for any of it because it would require allowing the poor to receive benefits that the rich consider “undeserved”

To be honest , I don't care if the Dems win the mid terms or the next President is a Democrat. I simply will never trust that country much again . The arrogance towards other countries and sense of superiority doesn't just run in Republican circles. Its a sickness of hyper patriotism.

There is no question Dolly Parton loved Jesus but the way she loved , showed respect , grace , support and gave from a heart kindled with an overwhelming sense of kindness to everyone, she lived her faith out . What an amazing lady. She will be deeply missed and now she can sing with the angels🙏

Great inequalities of income and wealth insulate the rich from reality and breed contempt for those with less. That contempt fuels even deeper inequality, creating a dangerous feedback loop that ends in pitchforks. Universal basic income and fair taxation of income and wealth can break the cycle.

Dolly Parton represented the best of us. She lived a life full of empathy for others. She never lost touch with her roots and always showed a deep thoughtfulness for the wellbeing of others, especially through her dedication to inspiring a love of reading through her Imagination Library for kids. 😔💔

I think it's very clear, dealing with the corrupt regime in the US we will not get a deal.Better to walk away , pursue other trades partners which I will credit PM Carney doing and permanently move on. The US cannot be trusted and it will be a long time before the world will trust them again .

At Dartmouth General with my son getting blood work. Air quality is decent at 640 according to my portable CO2 monitor. Still masking . Just got a new bunch from Canada Strong 👊

After rewatching the Odessey , I think it's a 7 for me. It still felt cold . Plus I think some performances were a bit over acted especially Pattinson. Plus the whole Darth Vader inspired suit of armor was cringe for me. It definitely didn't change my opinion of Nolan. He just doesn't do it for me.

A basic income should have been a staple of life a long time ago. Our current system of social help is outdated, punitive as well.Looking back on my life it would have helped when Kathy had cancer in 2007 ,and now with early onset Alzheimer's , it would have prevented so much stress and hardship .

Kathy got measured for her orthopedic chair. It's going to come in yellow. So the ball is finally rolling. Like her OT said today, there are too many hurdles just to get someone a proper chair. Plus the good thing about the chair is it can be used to get her out of the apartment if there was a fire.

If anyone thinks building more apartments or homes will stop this insane greedy market , I've got a miracle cure drink for whatever ails you. The world's gone mad on most levels and maybe an old friend of mine is right, screw the whole damn system and let extinction come because humans are a virus.

I'm a Christian at my core , call me dumb , stupid ,a duped fool but I believe. At this stage of everything going on in my life,I truly would look forward to Jesus second coming.

We are all flawed human beings. I've made my share stupid mistakes, said things I've regretted, but that's the human condition. But I stay away from people now who don't think their shit stinks. Who can't look in the mirror and see their own sins, flaws and can't say they have regrets or say sorry.

The one thing I learned as Kathy's caregiver is you have to allow yourself not to be perfect. Some days are easy. Some days are hard and a lot of days are in between. The other thing is you have to learn to rest.If she is content and seems to be happy and you can take a power nap , you go for it.

When it comes to music, movies, TV or books never let anyone's critique or dislike diminish your enjoyment of what you love. It's ultimately just someone's opinion and in my view carries no weight concerning my love of something. You don't need your love of something to be popular for it to be valid.

I think there should be a clear and honest look at the handling of Covid 19 at the beginning and even today. Questions to Dr.Fauci should be asked and every public health official .But also leaders. Recall Biden declared it over and how many died due to his pathetic leadership. In Canada leaders

Alzheimer's/Dementia is such a cruel disease. As my wife's caregiver , watching her at 59 struggling to do basic things from brushing her hair , her teeth, eating etc... Which I pretty much have to do now, is heartbreaking.Plus no more meaningful conversation. I can still get a smile and laugh.

Our closed ERs, "teacher shortages", lower life expectancy & generally high levels of ill-health can be attributed to the leaders who knew those things would happen but kept quiet once the directive was to make the public believe the pandemic was over.
