It seems really clear that by 2028, we're going to have an empty SPR, substantial munitions shortages, greater strategic challenges, a larger national debt and substantially higher bond rates which will massively constrain future administrations.

In the mid-20th century, auto and oil interests bought up electric streetcar systems across the US and systematically replaced them with bus routes and paved roads, funneling commuters toward private cars.

Not only is Hassett tone-deaf about what communities' concerns are about data centres, he's also wrong that these bring in a lot of workers. They basically chug along with no human input, spitting out property tax revenue while consuming no services, and he should have said that!

Same exact dollar figure that was paid to attack @katmabu.bsky.social (Nobody ever found out who was paying for that campaign.) Gross, lazy and above all cynical shit.
A lot of people in the 90s said things like "What's the deal with Starbucks? Why are all these yuppies buying $5 coffee? It doesn't even taste good!" but in hindsight we all discounted the fact that their logo is literally a siren.
