Tar-Míriel's wife 💍@islandofnumenor.bsky.social · 2y agoThread of paintings that remind me of Númenor, requested by @saetralen.bsky.social. If you like these, check the paintings of John Martin and the series "The Course of Empire" by Thomas Cole, they feel very Fall of Númenor coded (I put some here but not all) 🧵

Círdan’s story has always been a favourite part of Tolkien lore for me and Ben Daniels’ performance and dialogue has been absolutely perfect for me so far on #ringsofpower season 2. Looking forward to the rest of the season. Sketch in #procreate from ref
… I know everyone already painted this, but I did too (right after it aired). So here he is. Again. 😗 #Elrond #TheRingsOfPower #TROP #fanart #art #digitalart
#TheRingsOfPower #Adar Today I started on the cuirass, using a wood-burning pen and this heat-sensitive material called Worbla. It works great for carving the pattern so far. If all goes well, this might become an Adar cosplay eventually Thanks @niku30.bsky.social, your template was very helpful 🖤
#Elendil and #Isildur 🫂 A touching moment from season 1 of #RingsofPower Did this as part of a Xmas gift exchange with some fellow TROP fans last year 💞 Colored pencils & watercolor pencils (unfortunately not the best quality so didn’t blend well 😩) #TheRingsofPower #TROP #LloydOwen #MaximBaldry

One thing I've been thinking about for the past few weeks is how best to talk about Númenor going forward. As S3 and S4 of The Rings of Power should cover the downfall of Númenor, it's going be important to talk about all the themes Tolkien presented in the story. No doubt there's been scholarly /1
