This read is so fcking disturbing omfg. This should be life in prison or worse, but the ones at fault are probably yukking it up & laughing about it.

Despite all the rhetoric about "reining in Big Tech" we heard today, it's essential to understand the push for this "kids safety" legislation as something that most Big Tech companies WANT. Microsoft, OpenAI, Snap, X, Apple, and now Meta all support KOSA because it benefits their monopoly status

Ironically, the way mainstream papers lower the bar to give space to middling hacks in the name of ideological diversity is the closest real-world phenomeon to how MAGA imagines DEI works. Does anyone think we’d know the name Mark Thiessen if he were on the center-left competing for that slot?

Tear down the entire Department of Homeland Security. We didn't need it before 2003, we certainly do not need it in 2026. This is not some vital pillar of our national security with a illustrious history - it's a 20 year old add on.
It's hard enough to find people once ice gets them, the people with nobody looking for them are just fucking gone. It's going to be like after WWII when citizens had to be walked through the death camps and refused to believe it was real, the few reports from detention centers are horrific.

These are right wing men. The discourse is "It's cheaper if *your wife* cooks / women are too evil and girlboss to be my cooking wife for me".
He gets an A in Conservative Thinking for "everything's easy because my wife does it," but he gets the A+ for claiming it cost less than $20 to feed a family of 8. Maybe it did, but there is no chance he actually knows. He definitely does not know if a bag of tortillas is $0.05, $0.50, $5, or $50.
This is incredible content, it's the same "it's cheaper if you cook / I'm too tired from work to cook" discourse from BlueSky except literally no one posting actually cooks or has a real job, so nobody has any standing to argue either side and yet they're far nastier about it.

I’m telling you this as a political scientist. The person who is electable is the one who is elected. This can and does change over time. Any and all speculation about “electability” is either puffery or anxiety and is often both.

it’s more expensive to be poor than rich, thats all the theory is and its not complicated and its obviously true for example buy toilet paper in singles instead of bulk for a year and see how much money you waste
