Always think this about the Cumberland basin in Bristol, it could be one of the nicest points in the city - end of the harbour, foot of Clifton village, wonderful views of the gorge and suspension bridge - but there's a horrendous flyover going over it so it's completely wasted

I don’t think city planners and architects understand cities at all if they can illustrate this type of graphic without asking the question of why that space isn’t used? Freeways are loud, unpleasant gashes in cities and the only way to create this level of vibrancy is to remove them

Reading this at the moment, which is every bit as enjoyable as I hoped I just love that the back cover has a Caledonian Sleeper train, and a quote from Sophie Ellis-Bextor For those fans of overnight british rail services and turn of the millennium disco pop (me)

Guitar YouTubers will tell you about how digital modelling could never replace the feel and authenticity of a real analogue amplifier in a video with an AI generated thumbnail

Every TV show from the last 10/15 years has suffered the same problem that it's impossible to represent a character's life without including their social media/smart phone communication but there's just no way to do it that doesn't look cheap and clunky

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

I'm not much of a grammar freak because god knows everything I write is ridden with typos (and English isn't prescriptive etc etc) but frequently bothered by the number of Brits I see dropping the 's' after an apostrophe even when it's pronounced (We're going to Chris's house - not Chris' house!)
