Loves science, soccer, food, music and life. Animals are more awesome than humans. Hates religions.

RFKJr claims Lyme disease was created by scientists, which is the closest he’s come to admitting that science exists. Meanwhile, Ötzi the Iceman, who died more than 5.3K years ago, had Lyme disease. Apparently prehistoric humans are part of the conspiracy. Get me off this timeline

No news show should be booking RFK Jr. without an eject button. He’s spent years spreading dangerous misinformation with real-world consequences, then pretending none of it was his fault.

Conversations Worth Keeping #2 In 1986, I decided I wanted to earn a Ph.D. in genetics in the United States. There was no internet. No Google. No email. I was rejected by every top university I applied to. 1/3

Contrast this with Rand Paul who typically hires verrry young staffers and aggressively squashes any opinion Rand Paul disagrees with. When problems arise, Rand Paul punches down and blames staffers. I met with him once in my office and completely understand why his neighbor broke his ribs.

You can tell a lot about a leader by listening to the people who worked for them. Those who worked for Tony Fauci uniformly respected him. Today’s congressional hearing was a witch hunt, part of a larger effort to undermine science and scientists. www.reuters.com/business/hea...

There are no more heroes in America because America hates actual heroes. And I mean all of us, not just Republicans, because all it takes to tear down heroes in America is enough people to stand by and be quiet out of fear of being next.

Dr. Fauci is a hero. He really is. He helped guide America thru a mass death event. Millions more could have died but they did not, thanks to him. Everyone over 70 owes him a debt. It is disgusting that we live in a country that not only dishonors him but actively smears his good name.

Conversations Worth Keeping #1 Looking back, I'm amazed by how many important moments in my life seemed ordinary at the time. One of them happened in my biology class at Terra Santa College in Jordan. 1/3

I must admit, I didn’t watch a single World Cup match, but I did watch as tens of thousands of people booed the orange felon ferociously and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful sound.

Missing the World Cup already? Good thing there’s another kicking off in less than a year! @jonarnoldfc.bsky.social tells you all you need to know for 2027 tournament in Brazil. (And if you’re considering responding with misogynistic bullshit, take that crap to X)

5 reasons to get excited for 2027 women's World Cup in Brazil

The men's World Cup is barely over, but the women's World Cup is on its way next year with plenty to watch between now and next summer.

FIFA literally had to drag this fascist off stage to let Spain celebrate their World Cup win. This narcissist is so pathetic he wanted to remain in the photo, as if he somehow deserved credit for Spain’s win.😐

Starting next weekend, I'll be sharing a weekly series called Conversations Worth Keeping. One conversation. One idea. One question worth thinking about. Drawn from a life in science and life beyond science. I hope you'll join the conversation.

Oyer: "2 days after Blanche was confirmed as deputy AG, he fired me from my position as DOJ's career pardon attorney. I declined to rubber stamp a favor for a friend of the president, and it cost me my job. Mr Blanche's office had asked me to restore the gun rights of a convicted domestic abuser..."
