It’s clear that the massive rise in defence spending (to the detriment of care and infrastructure) coupled with a hyper militarisation of British society is more likely, in the long term, to be used against migrants/internal dissent than an imaginary future war.

I have this is hardback. It's one of the best books about Liverpool there are. In my opinion, every kid in Liverpool should have it as a school history book in some form.

The police having to constantly remind everyone that the suspect is white so that vast sections of the population, the media and more the political establishment, don't immediately initiate and condone a deranged pogrom is a depressing new stage.
