Beside the Foyle the cast and crew of Brian Friel's 'Translations', during rehearsals for its premiere in the Guildhall on 23 Sept 1980. The pic includes Friel himself, Oscar nominee Liam Neeson, Buncrana born Ray McAnally, Mick Lally, Stephen Rea and Derry actress Ann Hasson.
Just nerding out over history again. This time, Waring Street, Mary Ann McCracken, printed textile shops & the Merchant Hotel.

Watched Saving Mr Banks yet again…extraordinary film From what I’ve read about her they’ve managed to add a taste of the layers & complexities in PL Travers’ character (one of the most fascinating writers to have ever lived) A movie of much more depth than it might seem @saraoneill.bsky.social
And thats a @saraoneill.bsky.social Eadach scarf so already have notions lol
I have treated myself to an Éadach kimono from @saraoneill.bsky.social and I love this detail which I am adopting as my new motto #HaveNoSorrow
Just received an advent calender in the post it made my day. There's something about opening the doors that speaks to my inner child. This @saraoneill.bsky.social card is stunning. Thank you so so much @katebielinski.bsky.social for making my day 💖

Because the Millie character is a homage to our grannies, aunties, mas, generations of Mná Ultach maybe no longer with us, it feels like it’s their support, strength, community reaching back to support women today who need it, through my aul pencils & @womensaidni.bsky.social 💚#UppaMillies

What i love about sending these is that it feels like I can share a tiny bit of my own soul archaeology,to some of you. Millie's places are those I've lived close to or passed every day. Often ive seen them through the same rose coloured glasses as Millie, so you get to see that too.
When I started this Christmas card project in 2022 never did I think it would raise £50,000 for @womensaidni.bsky.social in just a couple of years but with your support that’s what we’ve done to this point. Looking forward to seeing what we add to that this year. Pre-orders are open… 1/

Could this beautiful island manor, located next to a world-famous Neolithic site and above a Pictish burial ground, be the most 'haunted' place in Scotland? 👀

This hits different. Just like Belfast castle last year, but this time it's Central Library. This millie hid there, through the Troubles, as a child. Devoured books encouraged by librarians who were in fact angels in disguise.
"With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy?" Oscar Wilde In 1925 a young Pamela Lyndon Travers, living in London, contacted the poet, George William Russell, a Lurgan man living in Dublin. Russell, known as Æ, was editor of the Irish Statesman… 1/
