Ummm… I've looked at a lot of RV curves over the years and Figure 9 of this paper does not show any evidence of a giant planet/BD companion. At best, I'd say they've done a lot of work and done a good job to *rule out* giant companions at various periods and the remaining parameter space is small.

Today I learned that several colleagues block me on Bsky because we appear to disagree on a niche political/social topic. I don't think this is how social networking is supposed to work. Opinions are diverse, and diversity is good.

Hint to all the laypeople who might be taken: if it were a solid result it would not be published in Nature but in a dedicated astrophysical journal 🔭 🧪. The claim gets suplexed by Spergel and Peacock in the SciAm quotes on this. If that happened to me I would leave academia.
