Listening to Dolly Parton today, and honestly touched that the flags fly half staff for this icon. My dad had her albums on repeat most of my childhood, but I know now that she was so much more than a brilliant musician. Rest in joy and love, Dolly. You were a force for good in the world.

As I've said before: What high-paying long-term jobs do they pretend exist here? A data center isn't a place where execs come and do Big Deals. Go to the server room at your workplace; are there lots of rich people in there spending money?

Ghoulish in its moral vacuousness. Withdrawing aid people are depending on with no backup plan is not the same as not deciding to provide aid in the first place.

But that's not what happened here. DOGE stopped food, water, and medicine already on the way to vulnerable areas before anyone could step in to replace that aid.
Let this be a lesson to every politician in DC: No matter how hard you carry his water, you will eventually be replaced by a shiny race car.

They looked at a list of voter names and judged that some are "traditional American names" while some are "foreign names" - this assumes that anyone with a name or surname that isn't English or German in origin is automatically an immigrant and suspect. Wow. What a stupid, racist take.

To keep getting up in the morning and doing some small amount of good - for your family, for other people, for your community - is valuable. Don't be discouraged if it's all you have in you on any given day. It does not matter how fast you go, so long as you do not stop.

They put the women who achieved the success in the back and put a wall of useless men up front. There's some deep symbolism here. How "extraordinarily brilliant" do you have to be not to notice how fucked up and embarrassing this is?
