Douglas Fairbanks clears a table as he duels Noah Beery in THE MARK OF ZORRO (1920), his first full-costume swashbuckler. Doug's brother, Robert, acted as a stunt coordinator and propmaster, lowering the table slightly to make the leap look even more impressive.

I rewatched THE MASK OF ZORRO this week, and once again am struck by how good and FUN action movies used to be compared to how they are now. Also, thanks to watching in HD for the first time I never noticed before that there's a jaguar scream sound effect accompanying several of the explosions

The comically beautiful Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta Jones

Absolutely incredible film. Antifa old ladies vs Nazi invaders, Die Hard by way of Enid Blyton, made and released while the war was still going on. (first recommended to me by Mr Alan Moore himself, should you need a more compelling endorsement)
